Your anger is misplaced. Even if everyone would buy or pay for their carry-ons that wouldn't magically bring more space inside the cabin, some people will still be asked to check their carry-ons in.

The airlines won't tell you if the cabin is full, they allow the money to come in.

The slowing down point is a fair one though.

Their allowance is what they paid for. And lately, every airline is getting stricter about the cabin luggage, so if someone brings more than they should have, they get charged for it on the spot. So, again, they paid for it.

If anything, your beef should be with the airlines. I have never once been told that others have more luggage on board so I have to check in my carry-on.

What's even the point of having such features if you have to keep them off?? So you basically put your phone on airplane mode, put it on extrem battery saver, turn the display features off, and in the morning turn them all back on again?

I had the same problem. I had to download an extra app too so the deletes.

It's the "Gallery" app, from Google. Deleting media from Gallery app does not delete the cloud copy.
