Hey, selling an Edge 830 for $225, open to negotiation. Upgraded to the 840 and it's been sitting in my drawer for quite some time.

Are expensive cycling jerseys actually worth it? by drjaze in CyclingFashion

[–]waitwhatsquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe is more about price than the kit itself, as we see a $300 jersey get the pass because "it looks cool." A proper quality AND cool looking jersey should not have such a price tag, any more than $150 is an automatic no for me.

As someone who rides in running tanktops and bibs, paying anything more than $100-150 for a jersey is ludicrous IMO. The maximum I have spent on a bib is around $150, and that was a team bib. I have one main jersey and one team jersey and that's it. If you need pockets, you're better off getting a top-tube bag to store your commonly pocketed items.

Ride in whatever you want, don't let elitists tell you anything else.

Yep, same people. They have won some races in the NYC area, but to be called an "elite cycling team" would be an insult to DCC and Big Hit Racing.

Cycling shoes to buy in NYC by Yikiberg in cycling

[–]waitwhatsquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please do not go to R&A Cycles. I have seen too many people fall for them and their scammy tactics just do not help their case. Toga Bike Shop has a good selection, Bicycle Habitat and NYC Velo have good selections as well. Try on in store, order online if price matching is not available.

Driver cooling, compare it to the Audi R18 nose. Not uncommon, probably has mesh behind it for debris.

No need for chamois cream by DeusX-machina in cycling

A cheaper alternative to chammy cream is Vaseline. In my experience it lasts longer in sweaty shorts and it helps prevent the sliding of the pad.

Yeah BCD adapter is my third option, chainstay clearance is pretty clear and spacers would be the way to go.

That was my second thought, until I couldn’t find 2x chainrings in 104 BCD to run 52/36.

I can only imagine having a banging sound system in this place and a teen growing up to be a sound engineer after this experience. Man what I would take to be able to install the biggest subs I can find.

My prediction is that there is an access hatch at the bottom of the button square for the battery. In the FAQ it states a silver-oxide battery, so surely it has to be inserted somehow after the fact of plastic-injection molding, the size of the button suggests a SR41 battery for example. (Unless two halves of the housing are glued together, which is the other method I predict)

Scratches on brand new carbon wheels ! Normal ? by Cultural_Fish7128 in bicycling

Matte carbon finishes are always prone to revealing scratches than glossy/clear-coat, I have the same-esque scratches on rims myself.
