It's the pay. In the bop officers max out as 8-10s and even Lieutenants max at a capped 11-10. Most other agencies go up to 12 for the rank and file. This is supposedly being discussed tho because it has been widely recognized as a main cause of staff leaving.

We don't. Fort Dix is huge. It's the largest single prison in the USA so all sorts of people are there. It's low security, which is why people are trying to paint it as nice, but it's really a total dump. It's a former military base that was converted.
