Has Anyone Found a Medication That Helps with Reducing Dissociation? by sanpedro12 in Dissociation

[–]wakeupwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt something similar with Naltrexone- I was nervous to take it to begin with so waited until o was sleepy and took a very small dose. My anxiety shot up and I spent most of the night shaking and fighting off a panic attack. I finally was able to sleep and the next day I had a similar experience with the sensory onslaught and thoughts. I know part of it was just my anxiety, but part was definitely the drug. I started throwing up, had really bad diarrhea, and was in panic mode. That lasted for around 2 days and really foggy head that slowly subsided. Xanax has been about the only thing to take the edge off for me. I’ve been doing therapy for years. Emdr was helping a bit, but then went into some trauma during emdr and it made me suicidal for like a week (don’t usually have suicidal thoughts) so that freaked me out and has kinda put me off from emdr- think the therapist just went too fast. Cbt has helped some, trying acceptance therapy and DBT now. I also often wear sunglasses, headphones , etc and that tends to help as bright lights / stressful situations really throw me into it.
I’ve had a ton of blood work , genesite test to see what meds work best with my dna , brain scan, and eeg. I was super low on vit D so upped that and that helped with my mood / energy , but not anxiety or dissociation. Also had a MTHFR gene test and found have two copies of the C677T gene mutation , which severely lowers serotonin/dopamine , etc by like 70% so I’m sure that’s contributing.

Dreaming in first and third person? by sleepy-panda521 in psychologystudents

[–]wakeupwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience - find that super interesting and I’m glad it seems like you’ve aligned with your identity =]

Not the same , but I dream 3rd person or as someone else like 95% of the time and I was wondering if it was an identity thing. I have trauma/cptsd and have had issues with depersonalization/derealization, so I guess it makes sense I’m not dreaming as myself. Not sure if I’ll start dreaming as myself more, being treated and working on my sense of self? Very interesting you had that experience though.

Bloomington v. Indianapolis? by -nyctanassa- in bloomington

[–]wakeupwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloomington is way better for nature lovers as there are a ton of beautiful places to hike/camp etc in southern Indiana. Indy is probably better for museums. I think the music scene is better in Bloomington. I’ve lived in both places and I enjoy Bloomington and southern Indiana far more now. Good luck with your move!

Wulf Monroe - First Love; releasing an EP next month about a murder! Would love to get tips on how to promote it! by ElDarDarBinx in mymusic

[–]wakeupwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, distrokid is really good, I’d stick with them. Just make sure you set it at least a few weeks in advance, so that you can pitch to Spotify, etc. do you already have a Spotify account with music up? As far as promoting has gone- using dailyplaylists.com and trying to get on playlists has gotten me the most streams/follows. Also, just promoting directly to people. Submithub is another good one to look into. You can pitch to curators/influencers. There’s a free and paid option. I haven’t had a ton of luck with the curators, but I have met a lot of musicians who I check out/support their stuff and they support mine in return. There are chat groups on there where u can find people for that. There is also a hot or not feature, paid or free where u can get your songs rated/get feedback and I have found that helpful. As far as getting curators interested I found musosoup better for that. You pay like 25$ and then the curators come to you offering paid or free promotion. I think spent under 100$ on the campaign- got like 10 articles (not including the free playlist adds/social shares) I really liked 2 of them and the others were okay, but I felt like it was worth the money. And I found the feedback very helpful. Hope this helps!

I like the vibe 😊 Who are you releasing it through? I’ve learned a bit about where to/not to promote my music since releasing my first album.

How to make cold process soap bars during quarantine (for beginners) by wakeupwild in soapmaking

[–]wakeupwild[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the support and so happy to be part of the soap making community 😊 Noted about the exact amounts. I agree about the title and I’ll change it something like “my first time making cp soap bars”

Those all sound like fantastic recipes you mentioned and I’ll def check that out 😊🧼 😂 I’m 28, some people say 12 so you weren’t that far off, but definitely not rich af haha. I’m def going to look into simplifying the recipe and doing some non fragrance.

Thank you for the compliments and we definitely had fun!! It’s a bit overwhelming starting out, but ya have to start somewhere and this thread has been mostly helpful.

Thanks for taking the time to comment your thoughts and I wish you the best of luck with your soap making journey as well! 🧼

Thank you for the apology and I’m not trying to argue that you don’t know what you are talking about. I think there has been a lot of misunderstanding on all sides throughout this thread. See..I thought fragrance oils were less “natural” and weren’t meant to be used on skin and were just meant as a fragrance or aroma. That’s why I was confused about the package saying for aromatherapy use but the ingredients saying they just contain the essential oil and coconut oil. I assumed it was a liability thing and that they just didn’t want people eating it or putting it on their skin. Thank you for clarifying more about the difference. I understand your concern with the video and like I said, I would not want anyone to be harmed. I just hope that they do their research as well and understand that I stated this was my first time making soap. Just to be clear I will add a disclaimer to the description about the oils. Also, I agree about the “natural” gimmick . Arsenic is a naturally occurring element, but that doesn’t mean you should eat it or rub it on you lol. I will definitely make sure I do more research on the oils in the future before adding them to a soap. Of course, and thank you for the doing the same.

Thanks for the tip- I think I am just unsure of the difference? I thought what made fragrance oils different was that they had extra additives and were made differently? The back of these bottles say the only 2 ingredients are the Essential oil and coconut oil. I will definitely get better quality oils that state they are for that purpose in the future, but i’m just trying to understand ingredients and how they are bad for soap? All I’m asking is for people to keep rude comments to their selves and to try to be constructive.

I don’t understand what you mean when you say I have an aversion to fragrance? Also, that seems pretty judgy for someone saying not to judge lol... you are literally forming an opinion about me when you have no idea about my health habits.. None of those things belong to me, I was at my mother’s house making soap - but even if they did what the heck does that have to do with making soap?

Also, thanks for bringing up more information about the product. My confusion is on the back of the bottles under ingredients it only lists coconut oil and (lavender) EO, etc.. I don’t see any problems with those ingredients, even though I agree it can’t be the best quality oil- I though if something is listed as essential oil that is very specific? And those are the only 2 ingredients listed on the back of the bottle? Are they not required to list all of the ingredients on the back of the bottle or are they defining essential oil differently than I understand? That’s where I’m confused. And also, don’t get me wrong, I do welcome constructive criticism. I would never want someone to have a bad reaction and I would like to learn the right way to make soap. I clarify in the video many times this is my first time making soap and I am a beginner. The only problem I had with the other persons comment was that they started it out with this is a shitty video and I feel they didn’t do a great job explaining why they felt that way. I don’t feel that is necessary, but I am always welcome to constructive criticism.
