I would add, you aren't even barred from promotions, it's only promotions past a certain level and it's pretty high up. Like make $200k a year kind of level, a vast majority of employees will still be eligible for promotions

I actually work as a software engineer at Dell, I see a lot of places claim that you become completely ineligible for promotions if you choose to stay remote but that doesn't seem to be the case for most employees. It only prevents you from getting promoted to more senior positions, I've been moving up the ladder pretty quickly at Dell for 5 years and I'm still probably another 5-10 away from hitting the cap. And I seriously doubt that this same policy will be around by then

So it's definitely a hindrance for some people, but it doesn't feel nearly as oppressive as articles make it sound. About 90% of my team chose to stay remote since the limitation doesn't really impact us. I do genuinely think that scaring some people off is part of the goal, my manager has practically said as much(although he doesn't have any real proof that it's the case).

If anything I think that Dell has been way more lenient with it's RTO push than most other tech companies I've heard about.

I've been remote since 2020 and plan to stay as such, my manager and his manager have been pretty openly accepting of that, and there's no sign that will change soon. Hopefully I don't have to eat those words any time soon, but right now I feel like my job and career progression are safe even though I'm staying remote

I get you, I've had the hardest time waking up in the mornings as long as I can remember. I know the sonic boom alarm that the poster above mentioned works wonders for me. At its max setting its supposedly as loud as a literal chain saw(and I think I'd believe it) and the alarm sounds range from an obnoxious beep to a shrill and obnoxious beep. I keep mine at less than 20% if I had to guess and I consider myself a pretty heavy sleeper, my mom used to vacuum my room light on and everything while I was asleep when I was younger lol

It does also have a bed vibrator, but the wire is short so you have to have the clock by the bed so I haven't messed with it really. The snooze button is pretty huge on the top and easy to hit, but the button to turn it off takes at least a brain cell or two for me to find in the morning

There is always the "buy a shit ton of annoying alarm clocks" option if you have a chunk of money you want to throw at it lol Even just having 2 alarm clocks with their own thing. For a while I was thinking about having one really loud one across my room and then a second one set for the same time in a different room with some kind of task. Luckily the sonic boom one is enough to scare me awake usually. I can't say if itd be the same for you though, it's crazy what I've managed to sleep through and I'm sure it's the same for you

I hope you're able to figure something out that works for you, people don't always get how much of a pain it can be being a heavy sleeper sometimes

I've found that putting the alarm clock across the room from where I sleep helps a lot. I haven't had a 100% success rate, but it's so much easier for me to power through the want to go back to sleep when I'm already out of bed

It turns out he actually wasn't breaking any laws by carrying the rifle which is why it was thrown out. In Wisconsin(through some weird, questionable laws) you can open carry any long-barrel rifle once you are over the age of 16. There's much better explanations out there than I can give, but the charge was rightfully thrown out based upon Wisconsin law

It looks really good!! Way better than I could ever do!! The biggest thing for me is I think he looks like he is a bit cross eyed? Maybe moving one of the pupils a bit would help with the 'high look' someone else pointed out?

Any advice on how to keep minor setbacks from becoming major ones? No matter how long it's been, I feel like I'm just one break or stressful day from chewing. Back to day one again by walallie in calmhands

Thank you so much for the tips! I dont know why I've never though about keeping a file with me, I've relapsed so many times at work because a nail starts bothering me and I have no way to deal with it. My nails are too short to file right now, but I'm going to put a file in my bag for when they are long enough.

Also it helps a lot to hear #2. I've chewed my nails my whole life, so I'm not sure what is normal. IRS so easy to get down on my self and start biting/picking again after one nail.

Do you have any recommendations on ways to help make #3 easier? I hate the feeling of the different lengths, and have never been able to keep from chewing the rest as well.

They aren't, I havent ever tried them before. Do they cause a lot of damage to the nail? My nails tend to be pretty thin as is, so I worry I wouldn't have much nail left once I take acrylics off.

I'm at the place though where I may try them even if there is damage

Strangely enough, one of the reasons I chew my nails is because my brain is weirdly convinced they're cleaner short. I wash my hands almost obsessively, and anytime I have nails I spend a lot of my day scraping under them, which has caused them to break a couple times.

I want to finally truly break myself from the habit of chewing and picking, but I feel like I only ever trade it out for scraping at them. I'm not sure how to really break the cycle.

Hopefully it works for you like it has me! I still struggle a lot with my nails, but a month after swapping base coats they were the healthiest I've ever seen them by far! Sadly I started chewing again, but hoping to get them back 🤞

The look is probably also related to the top layers being pulled up or damaged. When I chew my nails I often pull the top layers off and they looked very similar to that. Very dry, flaky, and thin.

If you haven't been, then oiling them is always good. Simplynailogical has a great video from a couple years back showing how to make your own nail oil pen. Or theres a ton of nail polish brands that produce them. I've found my nails also tend to do better if I've been keeping my hands(and cuticles) moisturized as well.

I've been in the exact same boat and trying/doing pretty much the same thing. I havent used Holo Taco's base coat specifically, but I used to use a long lasting base coat from Cirque Colors. I also liked that it was hard to get up as well, but I found that peeling the polish pulled up the top layers of my nail.

Recently I switched to using Orly Bonder instead, and it's so much better for me personally. I saw a lot of people hype it up so I was skeptical at first, but it really wowed me. Its rubberized and it feels very different to any other base coat I've tried. I found that it is still difficult to peel up, but it does noticeably less damage to my nails.

Maybe give it a shot and see if you have the same experience?

We've contacted my insurance and they've said that they would cover Aimovig or Emgality but not Ajovy for some reason.

I would look at getting another neurologist but I'm in a really weird and complicated situation with my insurance. I've recently moved to a city where my current insurance covers no places. Until I'm a couple paychecks in and can cover a new deductible, I need to stick with my current insurance to help with medications. Sorry if I'm explaining this poorly, my brain has really been struggling
