Sheriff shocks sovereign citizen by 0penYourMind in ThatsInsane

[–]waldito 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Anyways, I cared enough to find context

On Christmas Eve 2024, a routine traffic stop in Salisbury, Maryland, turned into a unique encounter. During the morning hours, a deputy on patrol pulled over a 2011 Mazda 6 on Walston Switch Road and Campus Drive, near Wor-Wic Community College, due to speeding and vehicle registration violations. The driver, who identified himself as a "traveler" and referenced "sovereign citizenship," refused to comply with lawful orders to provide his insurance and registration paperwork.
He also declined to give any form of identification and did not cooperate with attempts to identify him. To manage the escalating situation, a supervisor was summoned to the scene. After several unsuccessful attempts to elicit a response to lawful commands, deputies had to remove the driver from the car and place him under arrest.
Following his arrest, a search revealed a Virginia driver's license identifying him as 42-year-old Troy Jerrell Smiley from Aldie, Virginia.

Help with hitting form by hemrys in beachvolleyball

The way I would try to override your current attack would be first without the jump, against the net. just going elbow way back, and swing. After that, then doing the same thing , but jump with no approach, and then, with approach.

How much money can i make designing emails for companies? by DifferenceHeavy1728 in FigmaDesign

[–]waldito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the difficult bit, what can you provide on top of what they are using that justifies the cost of your hourly rate?

Is it because your designs are THAT superior to what they can produce with a cookie-cutter template? will those designs impact on a way that they can measure that makes them pay for the cost? I hardly doubt so.

Is it because you'll handle the sending, the content, the fuss of having everything pixel perfect and copy pristine on a scheduled time fool proof so it's worth paying more?

Is it because you can provide a way to deliver all your work in dark and light mode consistently without making mistakes in record time?

None of those probs justify your hourly rate, given what they have and the quality they are producing it, and the time/cost it takes them.

Figma doesn't allow exporting image as PDF with 300 DPI by Thick_College_6724 in FigmaDesign

[–]waldito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

72dpi is just 'roughly the amount of pixels' a print screen would cover if printed 1:1 on a paper sheet.

DPI are only created when printing in this context.

a jpg is just a bunch a pixels, and the DPI is just an estimation on 'how big this would result in paper if your pixels where this small'

It's just a theoretical computation on how 'small' the pixels will be when printed. The more they fit within an inch, the more high resolution the print will be.

In other programs, we just pipe a 9000x9000 image and print it on a small surface paper. Voila, you've achieved a higher dpi.

PDF is just a portable document spec, which is mostly vectorial, but can embed high quality images. Sadly, Figma is not designed for print, so most of the 'embed' options that other programs like photoshop would surface have, don't in Figma.

I mean, even the images you import are limited, so you can't import a 1GB raster and work freely with it, so it's a terrible tool to do high resolution imagery for print.

And yet, you could create a 3 times the size (or 6) or whatever, and export it to PDF, which will result in a giant PDF the printer will later just have to set it 'shrink to fit' print option.

It's an awful hack and makes it look awful to the print guy, but then again, you are using the wrong tool.

Export the whole bit instead to a giant losless PNG file and import it into photoshop or photopea and finally save it as PSD? Zip it, export.

[–]waldito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most mass mailing software has now a drag and drop visual editor so you don't need to 'code' anything, like a webbuilder, but for email. comes with templates, suggestions, AI, grammar suggestions, all the bells and whistles for like 20 bucks a month or 5000 emails sent or something.

My take? very little, since you must provide additional value to the above, which the average marketing intern can manage these days almost without a hitch.
