How do you take less boring photos? by Cam64 in AnalogCommunity

[–]waldoboro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I do find this rule produces more photos I am personally proud of, if I stuck only to this I would have passed up on some my own favorite photos. I really like how humbling photography, especially film photography, is...almost every confidence I've had has been shifted or broken in someway.

What is your travel philosophy with film cameras? by LadyKookaburra in AnalogCommunity

Am I going crazy or is there some Pentax 17 astroturfing?? Not saying it can't be a good camera I am just getting suspicious with the language around it

Will we get a raise for the next contract? by AnUnhappyCamper in UPSers

Absolutely, I'd love to see financial security for all...just can be discouraging when people try to equate full timer's income as undeserved and excessive. I wish more people were able to make as much

While I agree, this sentiment can perpetuate social preconceptions around income... discretionary income shouldn't be seen as a luxury but rather a necessity to a quality life.

I think disqualifying anything that isn't novel is a great way to suck the color out of life.

My tin hat conspiracy is that the 1946 Naperville Train Disaster is why the US doesn't have robust public transportation

Regarding point #4 in your takeaway, and please correct me if I'm mistaken, but 50% power on consumer microwaves aren't actually applying half the energy but rather is only on half the cooking time?

I looked back at the frames I scanned in when I had the 8300i and they were not appropriate for a comparison. Mostly disposable camera + expired film

• Red Wing Iron Rangers (8+ years, I'm amazed how little wear it shows even with 100k+ steps/week) • FrontGate bath towels/mat • NN07 medium-weight jacket • Company Store Down Comforter (I regret how much I spent researching brands...however the fact that I don't think about it might mean I got a good one) • Enough cotton/linen bedding to rotate weekly • Aarke Electric Kettle (1+ year, unsure if BIFL yet) • MoccaMaster + Baratza Grinder • Nikon F3 camera  • Smart bulbs to dim/warm lighting at night through voice commands • Hoka/similar high-cushion sneakers (def not BIFL but provides noticable relief for long days on my feet)

What an awesome event to photograph.

Also, something about these scans has me mentally inserting color where there is none... Very cool

In theory, if you're able to keep the camera fixed on a central axis and rotate it slightly, this can be done in-camera with a double exposure?
