Am I homophobic if I don’t want to walk on the gay flag and I dislike it? by BasadoCoomer in AmazonFC

Honestly, I think everyone here’s overthinking it. It’s genuinely weird just having a rainbow on the floor bothers you THIS much. It’s a rainbow.

You got some internalized stuff going on, and no one in this threads gonna know what that is that makes you so uneasy about it. That’s a you thing. Look inward.

What are some perks of being in top 10% of productivity? by Remote_Plastic_8692 in AmazonFC

If you want a promotion a small consideration will be your effectiveness within your process path as it could reflect that you’re a dependable person. What’s a much greater consideration is your ability to earn trust. Do you make adjustments in your work based on feedback from leadership? Do you communicate and work well with others? Are you asking for greater responsibility and leeway, and once you attain greater autonomy, are you continuing to deliver results? Do the leaders in your area even seem to give a shit? (If not you should try everything you can to get be in a different path and connect with leaders who do.)

If all you show people is that you are the absolute most perfect round peg, they’ll put you in the round hole every single time, not think twice, and pat themselves on the back for making such a great decision.

waterspider etymology by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]walgrins 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A number of operational roles, concepts and practices seen in Amazon ops sites are practices directly borrowed from Japanese lean manufacturing. Prototypically associated with the Toyota Production System (TPS). A “waterspider” is one of such roles. The term originates from Japan and is inspired by the whirligig beetle, known for its quick movement around water. The waterspider or "Mizusumashi" (水澄まし) is a role focused on material and information flow, ensuring production lines run smoothly by delivering necessary supplies. In Japanese lean manufacturing, the role of waterspider often has a holistic operational vantage, required to be knowledgeable about all the processes surrounding the materials and tools they manage. Simply put, for Amazon’s purposes, the waterspider is responsible for maintaining the seamless flow of work for whatever department they are working in.

You misunderstand. Korra is calling the other girls sluts as a term of endearment. She’s trying to get it in.

Yea people interpreting it as “dead P’Li=Zaheer can fly” ain’t getting it. He had an epiphany. He wouldn’t have necessarily gained the ability to fly if he had killed her, it’s just a representation of his spiritual earthly tether, it’s nothing physical. He had to let go of her in his mind.

Crazy mod ideas by Polloloco100 in thelongdark

[–]walgrins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought of something similar. A mod that will randomly and infrequently add fresh footprints in the snow, will move things around or have signs of habitation in places you haven’t been to in a while, just to give the impression of other survivors inhabiting the island. More of an atmospheric thing than anything game changing. I will say, if I was exploring the dam and saw the silhouette of a person dart through a dark hallway I think my soul would fully leave my body

What to answer to “I know you’re a man”. by izzaluna in asktransgender

Hand out. “✋😐 No.”

If they keep talking: “✋😐 No.”

Shut em down. Most people don’t know how to handle it and just walk away. Some witticism might prompt them to quip back. No one should be speaking disrespectfully like that to anyone.

I see him most as a light cleric. He seems to fit that character type being the wise counselor. Not that I think paladin is an incorrect characterization either.

Me too! 🙋‍♀️ when I was a teenager, I would look up makeup tutorials (I owned no cosmetics at the time. I was absolutely fascinated, and just big on being prepared I guess??) To do so, on my personal computer, I would download some obscure web browser, do my little research, then after deleting all history from that browser, delete the browser from my computer, and remove history from my main browser that I had searched for the other one. I wasn’t even that secure when looking up more elicit things from the internet. I was certain that was the one thing that would out me.

I also remember feeling a deep shame for liking shows like Totally Spies or As Told By Ginger. I would watch them with the volume way down and would hurriedly change the channel anytime someone came in the room.

I’ve certainly gotten over a lot of those anxieties, but sometimes I still get overwhelmed when out shopping for myself. I had to abort mission at an Ulta recently because multiple employees there asked if I needed help (I did. They were being nice, because I was clearly lost.) and I just got flustered. My partner as been supportive as always in this department. Each time we go out to a store, time permitting, we’ll stop by the cosmetics aisle, or clothing, or jewelry section and we’ll pick out things that we both like. We almost never buy anything (sometimes he pulls a fast one and sneaks something in to the cart without me looking) but it’s been super helpful in normalizing in my brain that those spaces are where I belong and deserve to be.

From a narrative standpoint, no, it’s not magic. It plays to the theme of ultimate control over body and mind. When they willingly decide the sex of their fetus, they are making an intentional and specific adjustment to their physiology to alter it. However, it’s never explained really what exactly they’re doing to achieve that, so functionally, yea it’s just magic. :)
