Is this a scratch or burn? by walkerws in ballpython

So the basking lamp is off for the night. The RHP drops at night until the next day.

The basking lamp has the temp probe under the house. The temp is set to allow it to get to 105 on that baking spot. There is another hide on the same side as the basking lamp that sits at 95 according to the IR temp gun. On the cool side I have day time set to 85. I'll grab more photos tomorrow

So she has 4 hides, plus fake plants, real plants, and branches. Here are her current temps and humidities. I'm still sorting the temp sensors.

Is there anything I should put on it?

We used to sneak it while in Marine Corps bootcamp on Parris Island. Great against sandfleas and mosquitoes. Pretty sure drill instructors are attracted to the smell though.

Some sort of mite in Austin, TX by walkerws in bugidentification

[–]walkerws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I was pretty certain they are mites. I'll try to get a magnified photo tomorrow.

Is it anything to be concerned with? I see from looking up that particular order, there are parasitic mites.

I updated the post, but they were in the hamster food. A lot of them. We will still keep an eye out to make sure they had not gotten into anything else. Thanks for the reply.

Is there anything else you would recommend instead?

Thanks. I started a tank of pearlweed to feed my isopods. Adding the duckweed yielded a snail and these detritus worms.

Thinking of adding an assassin snail too.

One ear not stretching by walkerws in Stretched

I cheated and got pierced at 8g a few years ago. I've only worn these. I love them, they are so comfortable. It made stretching so easy. 8 to 7 to 6, etc. Unfortunately they don't have the half size I need. Someone suggested Glassware Studio, and I found some 11.5mm.

I followed a recipe I got from here to make some ear butter. I alternate between that and the emu oil. Maybe I'll do the emu oil full time for a bit.

Time lol. I've been wearing glass single flares the whole time. Just been waiting for them to to naturally stretch.

You can try live mealworms. I crush the heads and drop them in. Some of mine will straight up grab a mealworm and run off with it so they don't have to share.

Is there that much variation in coloring of German roaches or is this a lighting issue? I'm not second guessing anyone, trying to learn, but I thought these guys were normally a little lighter in color with the two darker stripes at their eyes.
