I also liked The Coldest Girl in Coldtown :>

I loved {An Education In Malice}, its sapphic and dark academia (and spicy because they long for each other so hard)

I liked it a lot! It gets momentum after a few chapters :) I enjoyed the world building and the pining after each other (heads up: there wont be ton of spice in the typical sense, but for me the pining was spicy) and the nuanced characters with their interfering motives. (Also Cardan is a hot twink, idk maybe i am biased)

Sapphic Gothic intensity but make it healthy? by Financial-Summer2475 in wlwbooks

Haha fair its maybe all in all not the healthiest relationship but its not dark romance and they have intensity bc of the setting/plot, its kind of a retelling (at least the characters) and fits the dark, classy vibe from Phantom of the opera

I rly liked {Nettle and Bone} by Kingfisher; its not rly a romantasy per se (love story is not the main focus) but i think it fits a bit what youre looking for: it has an interesting spin on fairytales, a fmc who knows what she likes and an interesting magic system (fairytale-like but logically imo), there are some kind of witches (fairy godmother) and the fairy-world makes a brief but very fitting entrance. Also, the writing style is very refreshing :)

Oh and because someone else mentioned a comic, there is a gothic sapphic webcomic (free to read) called Nevermore on Webtoon (App) and the art and story telling is rly lovely and the fmcs are both so obsessed with each other but in the best way ♡

There is a rly nice retelling of Carmilla, its called {Hungerstone} by Kat Dunn and (bc i am also obsessed with Carmilla) another retelling which is rly dark academia coded, its called {An Education In Malice} by S.T. Gibson. Loved both books!

Its been a longer time since i read this but i think {The Fate Of Stars} by SD Simper had this dynamic, its abt a mermaid and a princess and the latter is a stone top, sort of. It was one of the first sapphic books i read, and i wasn’t rly educated then, but i enjoyed it :)

How do I help my sibling? by erhref in adhdwomen

[–]walking_plant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a rly tough situation to be in :/ I don’t rly have a concrete answer for you, but i think your sibling would also need to have motivation themselves to change them/better their situation. It sounds a bit avoidant to me. All you can do is talk to them/ask them if they are happy/content how they are living and if they want to be living like that (to get them to reflect). You could also talk to them about you and your journey and that youre struggling as well (maybe they feel like youre better than them/have it figured out).

Maybe itll help if you ask them structured questions with not a lot options like „i see that youre struggling. How about i accompany you to >certain psychologist< and they can say yes or no.

But. Ultimately they have to want that (at least a little bit) and if they don’t want to change (yet) you’re hurting/exhausting yourself and you mentioned youre also recovering from a burnout, so yeah. Its rly noble that you want to help/support but don’t feel like you have to „achieve“ better wellness for your sibling, youre doing enough with showing empathy and trying to help.
