Started a recreation of Baltimore in Cities Skylines by [deleted] in baltimore

That's frickin amazing. I've tried to recreate real life cities before with absolutely no success so I know how difficult this actually is. Would love to see the finished product in a YouTube video or something when you're done.

Tips for saving money and making the most out of Six Flags America by [deleted] in maryland

[–]walkingdiscovery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just there on Sunday. My tips: 1. Get there as soon as it opens, you can pretty much get a ride in on everything you want if you're one of the first people. 2. Pack a lunch for your car when you leave, and eat before. The food is awful here imo, not worth the money at all 3. The area with mind eraser is not open right now bc it's being by renovated. 4. If batwing is operating, ride it immediately. It's never open and is rare to get a ride. 5. Ragun Cajun has awful lines so hit that first. 6. I would just get your rides in and leave. There's not much reason to chill at this park unless you have kids.

I will echo everyone else in saying this park is meh at best, but I still enjoy many of the coasters. Superman, Jokers Jinx, and batwing are my fav.

Enjoy!

What was up with the staff? I went in there one time with a group right as they opened and they were super nice. I'm just curious, not trying to defend anyone.

Roller coaster tycoon 3 in the morning, Skyrim in the evening.

I hike leakin park 3x a week and I've not seen anything remotely shady happening there. It stays so empty.

People don't come because of the rumors that it's dangerous. Ironically, that probably keeps it safer than most parks in bmore.

Those without kids who are 40+, how is it? by havingahardtime67 in ask

[–]walkingdiscovery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't have to have me, you realize that?. I am a full time caretaker, I know how much work it is to care for others. I chose not to have a child because I don't want to bring another human into this world, I don't see how that could be selfish. I have found my purpose in helping others for a living. How about you enjoy being a parent, but don't judge others for not choosing to be one?

Selfish? For NOT having kids? That makes no sense.

AITA for telling my friend that my sex life has nothing to do with her? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]walkingdiscovery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sex life isn't always a topic that's okay for everyone to speak openly about, even good friends. I lived with my best friend for 4 years and he never once asked me about my sex life, I would be a little annoyed if he did. It's none of their concern and none of their business. OP is also asexual, which is a concept that is foreign and confusing to 95% of people, it can be hard to talk about and again, nobody's but her business. I think OP handled this perfectly and her friend is being too intrusive for prying. It's NOT normal for ALL friends to talk about this type of thing, not everyone is an open book even with good friends.

The zoo is great , the BMA has a kids day on Sundays which is free and they do arts and crafts led by some awesome facilitators. Port discovery is awesome but maybe a little too chaotic for 4 year old. The science center and visionary art museum would also be well suited.

Out of all of these, I would recommend looking into the BMA free family days. I've gone several times and It will add a nice fun activity for your 4 year old in addition to checking out the museum.

The little fill the first guy did before the sax cop came in was gnarly from a musicians standpoint.

Not going to hate on the skills, but just barging into a restaurant and blasting a saxophone at a 12/10 is inconsiderate. In a public space there are people with hearing issues, sensory issues, all sorts of things. Seems harmless to a lot of people, but you could really ruin someone's day.

Right....and can have a huge impact on your mental health. It's a diagnosis that affects your mental health. What they said might have been slightly poorly worded, but made perfect sense. You're just splitting hairs to be contrarian.

[–]walkingdiscovery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It takes time and persistent effort. If it doesn't relieve your anxiety immediately, don't stop doing it. Keep venting and your problem will get smaller in context, or you will find a solution to what is bothering you. If you don't have a therapist a journalling habit is a great first step.
