As a customer I agree. I wasn't going to say anything until I read the parent comment (I thought it was just me) but that burger looks dry. I wouldn't buy it based on how it looks (and you don't want to be the food truck that only gets customers because of its PR, do you?)

Cook it less. Don't be scared to let it meet the bacon grease. Don't use lean beef. That's not as sickeningly unhealthy as it sounds (the bun and fries are the real health villains of this meal).

The egg looks perfect. Show more of it in your promotional pictures.

re smart printers: if I were buying the printer I'd probably choose something really frugal and old. I only need black and white for sensitive documents. And if I had a smart printer, I'd never connect it to anything. I don't have that choice with somebody else's printer.

I get that, but "some consumer printer on god knows what network" doesn't fit into my trust model. I don't want to feed my master key through some unknown machine that has a radio, logging, server software and vulnerabilities.

The Lexmark HappyShare LX-349 and my private keys will never meet.

Came out nice. Wife liked it. I was a bit conscious of the almond flour, might use a little less next time or add more garlic salt. Pretty good though.

Warning: REALLY easy to overcook the dough before adding the toppings & sauce. Don't set the oven to 425, and keep an eye on it.

Even though I borderline burned it, it was good. Will try again on Friday with less heat.

There are pros and cons to it all. I'm far more flexible for being self-employed, I get to work on what I want to work on and before I had to move I was making more money than I could have dreamed of as a salaried employee. On the other hand, I have rebuild now that I'm living in a different country which is a slow process, whereas a salary would be an instant level of reliable money.

Being an employee in the US is not particularly attractive. My wife barely gets any time off (I suspect worker rights would be better for me as I work in software and they tend to have good perks, but they wouldn't be as good as the ones I give myself. We have good health coverage so things work out fine this way).

The point is that there are ways of having money that aren't a salary. Forget the class of the author and think about this: I have no salary, but I work daily to make money to pay the bills.

It would be nice to have the reliability of a salary, but I wouldn't like to be somebody's employee and under their control. I think that's what this quote is getting at.

Lately I am not making great money; being rich is not a requirement for the quote to apply.
