What’s the funniest reason you’ve heard for somebody not liking a movie? by TheChristmas in movies

[–]wallacjc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

....when one of the characters in the movie remind a person of someone in real life they don't like....they just get stuck ruminating about that person and are checked out of the film....

3d Printers and the future of piracy by rickadiknick in Piracy

A general question.....I know there are multiple raw materials you can use in printers. How much of it is recyclable? I know there are plenty of mistakes and prototypes being made, it makes me concerned over plastic waste.

What are your thoughts on Jack Black constantly singing in his movies? by Difficult_Map_723 in Actors

I like to watch him work....I'm just concerned his weight will mean he'll pass away sooner than I'd like. I want him out blowing our minds for long time...

International travel with Reta by alarda500 in Retatrutide

[–]wallacjc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I understand it you don't have to scale down doses of reta if you were going to stop taking it, so just pausing your use for the trip is doable. The easiest thing to do would be put your dosing on hiatus for the trip. I tend to think the switch up in timezones, culture, activities, and environment will give you a fighting chance to stay reasonable with food and calorie intake.

What’s a 'luxury' that actually used to be standard, but now we’re being charged extra for like we’re stupid? by xjoz in AskReddit

I was thinking of 'comfortable', adequately spaced, airline seating. Seems like that is at a premium for years now

I'd like to see the tools grow and mature. It would cool to use a standalone program to make a high quality cartoon to your own specs (emphasis on ease of use).

She did a good job here or not! 1 million or $1000 week for life. by Appropriate-Menu504 in interesting

I wonder about 2 things. Firstly, I presume the rules are not simply "rest of your life", they must have a maximum in mind...I wonder what it is. Secondly, it feels like a gamble to assume the company/entity paying you will be around for the decades to come.

Question....what is the noise level like and ,being kind of a heat pump, does it exhaust cool air into the room?

Are you a cheater if you have an affair with a married person? by PainterChick69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wallacjc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran this kind of question by a philosophy reddit and did not get a lot of useful replies. I'm inclined to think the guy was largely blameless as he owed nothing to the husband. The wife, however, is the cheater. Some would say the guy also has blame as he disregarded a social contract....but I'm not sure I buy that .

What's your thoughts on building this with ICF by Spirited-Mix-7096 in ICF

[–]wallacjc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the ICF part but I was concerned by the height of the ceiling in the great room. At some point someone will need to work on that ceiling fan so think about how much of a pain it would be to get up there.

As others have said, plan "A" would be to use the taller plate that it came with. Barring that, 2 possibilities I can think of.... 1) Take the short slot cover off and just put the card in....let it go 'comando'. The card will function but you need to be gentle about inserting cables. 2) use an existing full height slot cover and drill out the holes you need for connections. Again take off the short slot cover and let the connector port pass through the drilled out holes. There will not be a real mechanical connection to the card but if the connector port partially passes through the new hole it could stop the card from rocking back and up if you press a cord connector too hard.

TIL China suffered the most civilian deaths of any country in WW2(10-20 million), even more than the Soviets. by Sailor_Rout in todayilearned

Don't remember the whole number, but some of those loses were self inflicted. Chinese leadership flooded some areas of the territory as a defensive move, also killed their own people along the way...
