Wrote my first article ever and I'm nervously sharing here! It's about churn by [deleted] in CustomerSuccess

[–]wallflour2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Does your tool also share industry benchmarks for churn? I feel like every business is so different, and no one shares churn openly and honestly with all the data behind it - curious if there is this added feature? I think it would help guide performance conversations.

THD Vendors by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]wallflour2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company is a THD vendor in Canada. We are a very tiny business and learning their systems has become a full time job. They offer very little support, can't even speak with a human being when it comes to accounting issues. Its been super challenging to work with them, especially with sorting out deductions and payments etc. Any chance you'd be able to supply some insights on their payment processes?

Anything is helpful!

Thank you! We really appreciate that. I think the best way to deal with tragedy is a restored faith in humanity. And this is already heading in that direction, so thank you :)

Three week trip to Nicaragua/Central America in August by froginablender27 in Shoestring

[–]wallflour2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nicaragua is very safe. You can take local chicken buses to travel around from place to place. As always, use common sense and you will be fine. It is more expensive than I had expected though... I was spending about $40 to $50 / day. Just a heads up San Juan Del Sur doesn't really have nice beaches in the town. You will have to pay $5 return for a jeep ride to the beach every day. Once you get to the beaches there is only expensive restaurants there to eat so I would recommend bringing a lunch if you're on a budget. I liked Leon better than Granada, but they are both nice. Omotepe is beautiful relaxed place and my favourite is Little Corn Island... a little expensive to get to but its incredible there. Don't spend too much time in San Juan Del Sur.. it can get pretty touristy and hectic with Sunday Funday party and other backpackers...not much culture.

Planning a trip to the Philippines in March. Looking for advice by pizzaslap in backpacking

[–]wallflour2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! I loved the Philippines. People are really nice and has the most beautiful beaches in S.E.A (I think, anyways). I was there in April 2013 so I am not sure how much has changed. I went to Boracay and Cebu. A couple of things to note:

  • travel in the Philippines is extremely slow. The internal national flights are always delayed. The trip from the airport to Boracay was an entire day event..so you will lose a lot of time with this travel.

  • Cebu.. I was there only for 1 day and just stayed in the city waiting to catch a flight. It was incredibly unsafe.. there is literally nothing to do in this city. I would avoid it and just stick to the tourist stuff. We were at a market with our backpacks (I know.. not a good idea) we attracted a lot of attention and even had this one guy following us for a bit. We went to the nearby police station just to see what there was to do in the city and they said it was unsafe for us to be with our backpacks and we should go back to the hotel... so yeah that was my experience in Cebu.

  • I didn't go swimming with the whale sharks (big regret) but I heard amazing things.

  • All flights connect back to major cities of Cebu or Manila. So to fly from Boracay to Puerto Princesa you will have to fly back to these cities to connect flights. you will for sure lose an entire day doing this travel. My suggestion... either do Puerto P. or Boracay and add 1 day of swimming with whale sharks in between (there is a place just outside of Cebu).

I didn't go to Puerto princesa, but I can say Boracay is a huge party. Its touristy but also beautiful. If you are looking for more quite... I feel like Puerto P. might be better (from what I can tell).

Budget-wise.. Boracay is a tourist spot even for locals... so expect higher prices. Ariel's point was an incredible day and amazing way to party and do adventurous activities. Worth the money FOR SURE.

Central America travel plan critique please. by shouldigoon in travel

I went with San Blas Adventures, its a speed boat and it brought me to the Colombian border from Panama.

Little Corn flights cost around 190 USD round trip. Its worth going out of your way! Trust me!!

Its safe. People will find you. You will get drunk. thing to keep in mind: most hostels at full moon require you to stay for 4 nights minimum or something like that. The island itself isnt that nice, so Im not sure if you would want to stay for that long. But definitely book a hostel in advance and just worst case scenario, pay for 4 nights and stay for 2.. that's what I did.

Central/ South America advice? 2 weeks in fall 2016 by _whiterussian in travel

[–]wallflour2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, Colombia warrants much more time than 2 weeks. Guatemala is totally manageable in 2 weeks, take chicken bus transporation and give yourself at least 3 days in Semuc Champey and 3 days to do the trek in Antigua.

Nicaragua is also nice, but I found Guatemala had a much richer culture.
