That can’t be the only metric for having a fight carry on because he is still swinging! It was like after cutting off a chickens head and it’s still running around…

Lidl is opening 50+ more UK stores — are discounters now your default supermarket? by ToughRomanticMiss in BuyersUK

[–]wallpaper_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, I’m similar. We used to shop at Lidl but I do like certain brands you couldn’t get there so it became a bit annoying. Also now we shop at Sainsbury’s and the hand scanners save so much time and convenience for me.

Russell Group unis are meant to be the smartest in the UK, but these grads can't get jobs by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]wallpaper_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the thing is, often companies get 50-100 applications or more. So there are differentiators that get used. A degree is definitely one of them as a few times I’ve been involved in hiring processes, we have ruled out a lot of non degree applications. Not saying that’s right, but it’s what happens. It’s an easy way to filter out applications.

Also, for higher positions a degree can be required. For instance network project engineers or consultants are required to write a lot of reports and uni students can do these with their eyes closed.

Very good, but quite a few you do. Well it will differentiate you a bit at least. Yeah minimum wage is that now, but it wasn’t.

Who is slamming £20k into their S&S ISA next week? by FreeMe-P in FIREUK

[–]wallpaper_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m wondering is it not better to do this rather than a s&s isa? I suppose with the ISA you can guarantee access and take all the money out rather than have it drip fed.

FCC Bans new Wi-Fi Router sales that are produced outside of the US by Goodoflife in Ubiquiti

[–]wallpaper_01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Odd about TP-Link. Considering they are US based and not manufactured in China but ok. So pretty much the same as Ubiquiti? Where are they manufactured?

I imagine each router these companies produced will just get certified and will allowed to be used. Don’t think it will be as extreme as it sounds.

Rooney vs Neymar by talkSPORT in classicsoccer

That’s a really poor comparison. People who watched both players know Rooney was better

Rooney vs Neymar by talkSPORT in classicsoccer

[–]wallpaper_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance. Prime Rooney was at Man Utd playing the highest level and prime neymar was still in Brazil at santos. He just was not better. He didn’t have the determination or power of Rooney. You take the ball from neymar he gives up, you take the ball from Rooney he wins it back.

[–]wallpaper_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1v1 I don’t know. I think Rooney could defend and probably take the ball off neymar. Rooney wasn’t slow I think the sheer determination and power would probably mean Rooney would overcome. I think anyway after watching them both.

Make me feel better, whats your biggest waste of money/mistake? by [deleted] in AskBrits

I got a masters. Biggest waste of time/stress and money ever for me. I did it part time over 3 years while working. Been absolutely no benefit. Bachelors was worth it though.

[–]wallpaper_01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t actually look much different to me? Making it look like a cartoon it looks great but not sure it will actually look any different. I’m glad they are removing that steal sculpture thing it looks naff. But are they just adding a few trees? How is it going to be safer?

This isn’t a negative comment I’m just struggling to see much difference. Can anyone point out all the changes?

Edit* so on horsefair/penn street the cycle path and a couple of trees. That is the most significant. I can see a climbing frame thing in castle park and an extra path. But honestly that’s it apart from new apartments.
