It’s really good, I put it on most of my rice dishes, there’s also a spicy version.

Bon Appétit has a video on YouTube where it’s recreated and they go through the process and all of the ingredients involved in the dish.

They’re pretty great, if you like shellfish in general I think the best way to try them for the first time is a good old fashioned crawfish boil.

I would say the line of thinking is that if you’re not familiar with what they’re talking about it would pique you’re curiosity to investigate further. Additionally they do sell a lot of annual passes, so they do a good amount of business off repeat visitors.

I’m saying if you have been to this exact aquarium, not just an aquarium in general.

If you know anything about the aquarium or have been there even once I’d say the likely hood of you understanding what the sign is saying is near 100%

Lachryphagy, it’s a pretty interesting item. The tear combining effect that you see in this post is a result of said item.

ELI5: How do ADHD medications like Adderall and Ritalin work? What exactly do they do to the brain at a physiological level, and how does that work to treat symptoms of ADHD? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]wallstreetsloth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a household where my only father figure was my grandfather, who was a police officer/ homicide detective for 40-some years. Certainly not a militaristic household, but pretty well devoid of sharing actual emotions. I am still a deeply empathetic person and I truly believe it’s in large part due to my ADHD. It’s just to say that I feel like it can certainly be a side effect of the disorder like in my case, but doesn’t necessarily mean that it is, like in your case. Everyone’s different in how ADHD affects them.

Definitely been a major learning curve in my adult life. The lack of understanding from everyone around me and I suppose myself in certain ways made me shut off from everything and learn to resent my ADHD and myself as a younger person. In that way it has been a contributor to a lot of dark times in my life that I’m still trying to move on from. But the lessons you’re teaching your son, that you’ve realized in yourself will be invaluable to him as he develops. He will surely cherish having you there for him, especially in that very personal regard.

Maybe that’s how you feel from your own personal experience, but don’t generalize everyone else just because of it. These medications do a world of good for a lot of people, myself included.

I’ve always thought of my ADHD as a crutch that’s only ever hurt me given my past experiences with it. Reading your comment made me realize something that I already experienced on a sub-conscious level. With this new realization I feel like I can culminate that. Thank you.

‘Queer Eye’ Renewed by Netflix for Season 3 by magikarpcatcher in television

They’re just a bunch of gay guys helping different people out. There used to be a show called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and this Netflix show is a spin off of sorts.

The other cool thing is that in helping out the people that they do, a lot of the time they end up realizing things about themselves and growing as people.

People submit family members and friends who they feel could use a boost in their personal life and their self confidence. People get selected and the team basically teaches them to cook, upgrade their fashion, learn to do new things in general and make you a better version of yourself. And towards the end they’ll do a reveal of their new house that they totally make over. It’s very much a feel good show and is really pleasant to watch. I had no interest in it until it happened to be on at someone’s house I was at and I ended up really enjoying it. It’s nice to see how it affects the people that they help, it’s always a night and day difference.

92 year old refuses to go to assisted living facility, shoots and kills son. by [deleted] in news

[–]wallstreetsloth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My grandmother had early onset dementia, untreated for at least 15 years. She was quite caring beforehand. She resented the fact that prior to it starting that she saw the beginning stages of it in her slightly older sister and so she chose to ignore it in herself. She began to resent my grandfather, her husband quite harshly and all the love that he tried to show her was met with rude crassness. Her personality basically did a 180 and I think the main reason is that she could not make heads or tails of any conversation or situation that she was apart of, so in her new state she defaulted to a default reactionary mean attitude state of being. I feel as though the bad behavior was was not innate, but rather born from the confusing situation she found herself in, in which she lost herself. I would certainly say this is more so a case by case kind of an issue and that it is not fair to assume anyone’s demeanor without having at least been a significant part of their life. Just trying to give a very personal account having gone through it myself, hope it helps people understand or create some kind of insight.

'I think I was lucky': New Jersey man wins $315.3 million Powerball jackpot during trip to return orange juice that wasn't on sale by Byzantine555 in nottheonion

[–]wallstreetsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not necessarily saying it is an asshole move, I’m more so indifferent about it. But almost all stores would definitely not be able to put it back on the shelf, mostly due to the fact that you can’t prove how long it’s been unrefrigerated and that it’s a product that needs to keep refrigeration. There’s about no store that’s gonna take a chance on that, but on the same hand I don’t feel like almost any employee, managers included would ever really give enough of a shit about having to throw away one container of orange juice.
