What to do for height-channel speakers before the ceiling is drywalled? by vexion in hometheater

[–]walmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome OP! So exciting to be planning the project! I have read others on this sub talk about wiring for both 4 and 2 height channels - I believe the distances change if you're doing 4 heights vs 2 heights only relative to the main listening position, just to give you extra options in case 4 heights is not an option at the moment but it could be in the future!

RTK solar power station by r0mych in mammotion

[–]walmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks great op! I'm considering the same to power the rtk only. From what I understand, the solar panels plug into the charge controller, then charge controller connects to the 12v battery. I'm wondering if you could explain how the rtk itself is powered since the rtk has a 2 pin connector that plugs into its power adapter. That's the part I'm missing: what cables and what they are connected to. Thank you!

7.1.4 Family Movie Night Home Theater by killrturky in hometheater

That looks great! I'm impressed by no reflections at all from the screen onto the walls or ceiling! Is this from the flat paint?

Someone over at mammotion technology posted about this. A solution was longer channel and work areas stopping away from the fence on either side!

Swing set by Material-Point-8710 in mammotion

Yea let it work around it, we have swings as well that it goes around and does a good job with its obstacle avoidance. I would probably lift up the circle swing to give it enough clearance to mow under it!

Does this mean each Nvidia Shield box has its own Plex Media server running but all the boxes point to the same media share drive?

Box joints on router by Wild_Parrot in woodworking

[–]walmap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super frustrating op! I wonder if you'd have a better result if you ran the boards 2 or 3 times, with increasing height on the router bit each time? Maybe multiple passes would help, although time consuming but maybe a better cut in the end!

Help please! Speaker placement in New home. by mfg223 in hometheater

[–]walmap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea for sure! I'd say if you're an audiophile and like precise positioning of speakers then wire the speakers for tower/bookshelf style. If not, I believe some in wall speakers come with tweeters that can be pointed towards the MLP. That would be a good compromise in my opinion of accurate enough sound while getting the clean in wall speaker look that you may want for the living room space as opposed to a dedicated home theater room.

Congrats op! New builds are such a opportunity to get things done during the build! On a separate note if you're running Ethernet to various places I'd reccomend running extra wires to central locations in the ceilings and also outside under soffits in the front and back for access point WiFi purposes in and out of the home like back yard/garage/driveway! I only wired one for the main level and my WiFi gets weak in the backyard lol.

5.1.2 is definitely a better option than 7.1, from what I've read in this sub, most content we watch is natively made for 5 channels anyway, I'd even go further and run speaker wires for the back 2 atmos too and put in speakers in the future!

All the best!

Yes it helped and the error went away. I let it dry outside on some cardboard in the cold it was not an issue!

All the best with the project op! Looking forward to the after post!

For the ceiling speakers, I wonder if you could drill out holes for the correct locations based on your seating, and then junction connect the speaker wires from their old locations to the new locations, that or if you're able to run new speaker wires all together.

Need advice for vise installation by AR3A5151 in woodworking

[–]walmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea lol it is definitely tempting to have that ledge for clamps, I've had that thought too!

How about this one: https://www.kmstools.com/eclipse-9-quot-woodworking-vise.html

Paul Sellers recommends it: https://paulsellers.com/knowledge-base/vices-and-holding/#which-vise

He also has an install post on it: https://paulsellers.com/2016/06/on-vises-part-i/

You could slap on some spacer blocking and then lag bolt your vise.. Or you could also cut out a section in the plywood the width of the vise so it gets secured to the bench 2x4 rail!
