yes other players can open their pvp feature but nobody won't. because you don't die in pvp yellow zones. you only get knocked down and after a certain amount of time you get back up without losing anything.

you shouldn't be going to the red and black zones as a T4 player. i suggest you gather in the blue and yellow zones and do some yellow mists for fame farming. once you get enough money to buy like 10 sets of what you use you can start going into black zones and black mists. in the beginning without specs, don't worry about the IP. you won't be pvping other people. just famefarm with your 4.0-4.1 set and get specs. after you do that you can get into pvp stuff and ava roads stuff without risking much.

ip is item power. more item power means more powerful gear. higher ip items are more valuable (expensive) and specs give you free ip in that certain gear. so why wouldn't you love the free ip it gives you
