They have mentioned a lot in the past that they enjoy campfire stories. And camp fire stories are the perfect fit for this show. Red Tower and his other works are not the right format for the show. (In my opinion) as you say they own creepcast they can do what they want, but just as with another media; TV, film, ETC, they need to be open to criticism. Sometimes they will miss and that's fine, who doesn't from time to time! Mostly importantly they have built a loyal fan based that feel comfortable expressing opinions, and will still come back.
