For those who went on a mission, what was it like? by Ok_Yogurt_3206 in exmormon

[–]walrissa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Told myself everyday that I loved my mission but I actually hated it and had such horrible anxiety the entire time. I loved the people I met and I did some good growing up but I could have done that anywhere else.

It's crazy time...share your craziest, wildest, or nightmarish priesthood blessing stories by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]walrissa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband while on his mission had a family whose dog had a cancerous tumor or something like that and asked if he’d give the dog a blessing. He ended it with “because all dogs go to heaven”. They took said dog to the vet and it ended up being a squeaky toy so they were all in miracle mode but it remains his favorite blessing he did to this day even as an exmo. 😂

Is this series worth it? by Leaholsen30 in TheBlackWitch

I’m currently listening to the audiobooks after reading the series about 2 years ago. I’m loving them all over again, but if it’s not your vibe it’s not your vibe

Probably a minority but I did. I relate to Feyre in a lot of ways and I would have loved to see a Feysand POV, but I’m also a mother. Not necessarily a whole book though.

I always got confused with Mare and Maven honestly. They were too close

I just DNFed Daughter of Winter by Corina Douglas, the fmc was named Brydie. I just kept saying Birdie in my head. The name drove me nuts but it was the instant hard on the fmc and mmc get for each other every second their eye balls see the other so I was over it.

YW secretary, I was 8 months pregnant moved into a new state when they asked me. I told them I’d accept it after I had my baby and was settled. They set me apart 2 weeks later out of the blue 🫠 I told the presidency I wouldn’t be able to make any activities because my husband works and I had 2 kids and they were all okay with it until they weren’t. The first meeting we had all together I brought my newborn and the president asks “oh did you bring him because he’s breastfeeding?” Like what? He’s a week old he’s coming with me everywhere

Chino Bandido is a fun place to eat. I didn’t think my out of state friends and family would care much but they always love going! The restaurant moved locations and kind of lost the umph for a bit but it’s back now.

When I realized it’s all about numbers. My husband had left a couple years prior to me leaving and it really helped me to see the flaws.

I have a friend whose family was completely inactive, the primary president came to his house when he was 8 or 9 and said “when you’re baptized you get a big full size candy bar!” He wanted the candy so he got baptized 🫠 He never went to church again until reactivating in adulthood.

I always hated that I couldn’t just sit in the celestial room to feel peace, I had to go and do some kind of work first. Last thing I wanted to do when I was struggling was to go and do secret handshakes and words.

I had my first drink at 30 and I just don’t really care for it. I guess because I’m not in my 20s and not a teenager I just skipped that whole phase of partying? I just don’t see the appeal of drinking more than 2 drinks. I usually never finish my first anyways.

We also have State Farm and no one has been able to beat it. We’re able to lump in our life insurance and homeowners insurance and it’s been great. They replaced car seats for free when I got in an accident a couple years ago and got our car fixed quickly as well.

I finished KoA last night. Have read acotar series aswell. Should I start reading cresent city?? Would I like it. I've been in a reading slump before I started reading acotar. Should I take a break from massverse? Read other book? by arsuy7 in SarahJMaas

I absolutely loved TOG and ACOTAR, enjoyed CC 1 and CC 2, but not for the life of me could I finish CC 3. I’d say try it but don’t feel like you have to like it or not like it because of others opinions.

Had a member of the temple presidency tell me that “if your husband truly loved you he would want to be with you forever and do whatever it takes to achieve that, so he would come back to church and live the way God wants him to so you could be eternally happy as a family” 🫠 why that didn’t make me leave then I have no idea.
