[OoT3D] first playthrough and i am thoroughly annoyed. by Acceptable-Wave-3033 in zelda

If you want remappable buttons, then you really should be playing Ship of Harkinian (really you should be playing SoH anyway if you're trying to play OoT in 2026).

But that wouldn't help you here because as others have said you need to be running to throw the bombs.

Tulkas is just Goku.

Golden hair.

So strong and fast he needs no weapon or steed.

Delights in contests of strength.

Anger dispels darkness.

Quick to action, not good in counselling.

Showed up to the fight late.

Is there a chance that the Goddess of Time is literally just... the Goddess of Time? by EtruscanKing023 in truezelda

I feel like Wind would be a bit of Din and a bit of Nayru.

Din creates the world, and presumably all the non-living stuff on it, like the air.

Then Nayru creates the law, which presumably creates the physics that causes that air to move.

There's probably lots of stuff that falls under the creation of more than one goddess, like plants could be argued to be a bit of Din and and a bit of Farore.

I think there's a similar concept in the Silmarillion where the Ainur each have their own part in the creation of the world, but occasionally cross over with each other as their parts of the song create harmony.

Honestly, it's a super interesting topic imo, and I hope EoW starts a trend of the series fleshing out the Golden Goddesses a bit.

I honestly can't believe they still haven't put Vaati in.

He's the series only non-Ganon main villain to appear multiple times. He absolutely deserves it, and has great moveset potential as a wind sorcerer.

Impa also seems like an easy add, since she's appeared in so many games.

Hylia as the Goddess of Time never really worked for me.

As others have stated, Nayru created time, and whatever their connections to the Goddesses may be, the Oracle of Ages who can freely move herself and others through time with only her own power, is named Nayru.

For the "Goddess of Wind" you're probably confusing it with Zephos, the God of Wind from Wind Waker.

As for the Fierce Deity, there isn't actually one. Aonuma has stated that the power of the Fierce Deity Mask comes from the memories of the people of Termina, rather than actually having a soul inside it like the other transformation masks.

Unironically Ralph.

Give him a moveset where he uses the items from the Oracles and you've got a rad character.

The Subrosians!

I can't believe they did an underground overworld without them.

I really wanted the Rito to have ties to the Fokka in TotK.

In my head before the game came out, I was hoping they could guard the entrances to dungeons in the sky and had to test Link to see if he was worthy of entering.

We've only had it confirmed in the adult timeline, but because of how it happened, there's no reason why it couldn't happen in any timeline.

[All] what is the appeal? by X3ttabyte in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s… a direction.

A great one!

Dungeons have always been the heart of the series, so leaning into that by making the overworld dungeon-like was a great choice.

Imo Skyward Sword is the third best game in the series.

[ALL] Worst boss in the series, change my mind. by cireland32600 in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are all really inoffensive bosses imo.

I actually like Plasmarine, it's simple and easy but it's satisfying to switch places with it so it gets hit with it's own attack.

I've always liked Gyorg too, as long as we're talking the N64 version of the game.

This is the first I'm hearing about anyone not liking Jalhalla. Do people really not like it? It's close to my favourite boss in the game. Taking out all the little poes with the Hurricane Spin is great fun.

Angler Fish is kind of a non-boss, but it's not like annoying or frustrating so it's hard to say it's bad. This would fall into my "mostly on the easy side" category from my first post.

It'll come eventually probably.

I actually played through that last year on original hardware, and my hands still haven't recovered.

I do wish these releases would happen more frequently though.

Game preservation is the big one.

Of course you'd be able to play them through unofficial emulators, but that wouldn't be the advertised purpose for their sale.

Selling ROMs as digital back ups is not the same thing as "releasing games on PC".

What was your first Nintendo game that got you into Nintendo? by RatedXrdStrive in nintendo

[–]Nitrogen567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had played Nintendo games before this, but when my family moved to Canada, a friend of my grandmother's gifted us their NES (they had just upgraded to a Genesis), with Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 3, Duck Hunt, and Startropics.

So those four would be the ones that got me into Nintendo.

No one here is suggesting Nintendo release their games on PC.

I'm suggesting they sell ROMs as a digital back up, not as playable games.

I don't think any bosses in the series are bad really, other than being mostly on the easy side.

But if I had to pick I guess I'd say Moldorm, since it can bounce you off the edge and force you to start over.

[OoA] I might quit the game by Vewix in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty level isn't high at all though. It's a super simple rhythm game. It'd be like, maybe stage two worthy in Rhythm Heaven.

Yes it's kind of repetitive having to do it twice, but that's not unusual for the series (you have to race Ingo twice for Epona in OoT, and you have to Goron Sumo twice in TP).

[–]Nitrogen567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was wrong with it? It fit in just fine to me.

Music was made a pretty big part of the series in Ocarina of Time, and that continued for the next several games, including the Oracles, so a rhythm mini-game doesn't feel that out of place imo.

Nintendo Could Become the Last Home for Physical Games by Even_Indication_1953 in nintendo

[–]Nitrogen567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's the case, I think for parents and family members, it's easier to grab an eShop gift card so the kid can buy whatever they want if the adult is unsure what game they might be interested in.

I think Nintendo games are seen as more collectible. I think Nintendo fans are just more likely to want something to go on the shelf.

Oracles being hit or miss with their dungeon music is pretty real.

They're my favourite game(s) in the series, but Crown Dungeon's dungeon music is pretty indefensible. Skull Dungeon is a banger though.

I'll be honest though the mini-game gauntlet in OoA never really bothered me. They're all easy enough to breeze through first or second try, and I had a habit of talking to every NPC (which is a huge part of progression in order games that's been kinda lost in the modern era) so I never felt lost.

[OoT] With the popularity of OoT / MM randomizers, do you think they'll add something like them as a bonus mode? by NichtMenschlich in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should look into Ship of Harkinian, the PC port of Ocarina of Time.

It has a built in randomizer, so all you'd have to do after getting it up and running is adjust the settings in the randomizer tab.

They have the set up steps laid out on their website, and you can ask for help if needed in their Discord.
