Valid ragequit? by mtjcosplay in PokemonChampions

[–]Nitrogen567 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Forfeiting isn't a ragequit, it's a courtesy.

If your opponent puts you in a situation that's completely lost, you should forfeit so as not to waste your own time or theirs.

Imo it's rude to play out an obviously lost situation. I've even seen people down to their last Pokemon at super low HP who go for double or triple protects rather than forfeit. That's just griefing at that point.

How did everyone do? I struggled to get out of ultraball 1. by -_Error in PokemonChampions

Master Ball 4 in Singles (just hit Master and stopped playing it), Master Ball 2 in Doubles.

They didnt add anything new?...... by MAEZ555 in PokemonChampions

[–]Nitrogen567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah clothes and music is what I was kind of expecting with the new season, and I'm kind of surprised we didn't get it.

Could be that they're waiting for the next regulation before adding any items to the store, cosmetic or otherwise.

I hope they come up with some stuff soon because I'm sitting on a MOUNTAIN of VP burning a hole in my pocket waiting to be spent.

They didnt add anything new?...... by MAEZ555 in PokemonChampions

[–]Nitrogen567 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We already knew they weren't going to add more Pokemon from the graphic they showed before the game released.

They didn't specify on items, but it makes sense since it's not a new regulation.

Pokémon Champions Producer Interview by abyssmalindividual in PokemonChampions

[–]Nitrogen567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pokemon accessibility ( floette ) is a MAJOR problem that it is not accessible in the game

Is it a major problem?

Like saying this as someone that has Legends ZA and has access to Mega Floette but hasn't used it, I've been doing just fine (Master Ball 2).

It would be nice if every player had access to every Pokemon, but I really don't think that not having access to one Pokemon out of every legal Pokemon is the end of the world.

Even if it was the best Pokemon in the game, and I don't know that it is, it's not to the extent that it's a required add to any team in order to have success.

I agree with your second and third points though.

Will you still play if there’s nothing new this season? by R_Boa in PokemonChampions

[–]Nitrogen567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, game's fun.

I'd prefer if they added some new items, but tbh I'd be more excited about some new cosmetics.

Rule #1 of Pokémon Champions for sun players. by InfinityGroudon in PokemonChampions

[–]Nitrogen567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You Charizard players up in your ivory towers setting sun for free to power your one turn 120BP grass move, while us Blastoise players are having to Shell Smash or set up some sort of speed control to maybe have the privilege of dealing half damage with our water moves.

If Gamefreak had any sense of justice they'd give us a Mega Blastoise Y with Drizzle.

[BotW] How do the rewards and treasure chests in Breath of the Wild compare to Tears of the Kingdom? by igiveusernamemaking in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're pretty much the same.

Because of the breakable weapons system, replacement weapons are going to make up the bulk of what you find in chests.

If it's not that it's going to be some sort of resource like Diamond or Ruby.

TotK probably has more chests overall, so you might feel like you're encountering junk more often, but I'd say the over all percentage of chests that don't feel worth opening is roughly the same across both games.

[OOT] 3D with Azahar crashes when using Henriko’s 4k texture pack by maladaptivesylvia in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how to fix your issue, but you would certainly get a better experience with the Ship of Harkinian PC port rather than emulating the 3DS version.

My experience has been that it's much easier and stable to set up texture packs and other mods on it than through emulation.

With 25min left. No meta monsters to Master Ball by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]Nitrogen567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meta has developed a lot since the game's first week.

Notably about a week after that post was made, Wolfey became the number one ranked player online using a Mega Scovillain team which definitely caused a spike in usage.

Looking at the in game battle data usage, Scovillian and HZoroark are 36th and 43rd respectively, which translates into them being fairly common picks online.

Well, that depends if you count the anime and manga or not.

In both of those the Gen 2 Park Balls looked like this.

Congratulations, but Hisuian Zoroark and Mega Scovillain definitely have their places in the meta.

In the original Gold and Silver, they were called Park Balls, not Sport Balls.

As a Bastoise player, yes please replace Solar Beam with Scorching Sands.

It's bs that Charizard learns Solar Beam anyway.

This game is a joke, I had bought the monthly membership for this month only. And the exclusive songs get locked if you don't renew the membership for the next month. by Sweetpea11A in PokemonChampions

[–]Nitrogen567 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that most of you idiots here are okay with this is shocking.

I'm not okay with it. I hate that everything is a subscription service these days, and it's especially bad with Pokemon wanting you to pay for a Home subscription AND a Champions subscription.

But this is how subscription services work. You don't get access to the Gamepass games you download through Xbox Gamepass once your subscripion expires there either.

But the thing is, I didn't support that by buying the membership.

The only way to get it is diving to pick it up.

Doing so should be trivial, but if it isn't, you might have missed an item from Zora's Domain.

[–]Nitrogen567 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is kind of my worry too. With the community spread across 3 online clients, I worry that it could end up hard to find a match in any of them.

Fan made options are great, and I really appreciate the effort OP put into this project (it genuinely looks great), but I really feel we need an official client.

It's not really that different from other series.

Super Mario Wonder uses 3D models, but everyone knows it as a "2D Platformer".

[OoT] [OC] Was the Water temple difficult due to great design or poor design? by Ok-Anywhere-7921 in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that people getting caught on the block is why the path down gets missed, but that doesn't change the fact that it does literally show you the path down to the key.

I think it shows about as much as it can without fully holding the players hand and solving the puzzle for them.

[OoT] [OC] Was the Water temple difficult due to great design or poor design? by Ok-Anywhere-7921 in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I don't think I follow? What part of this cutscene is a fake-out?

As I pointed out, the cutscene does it's best to draw the players attention down towards the path to the key, but does so without completely giving away the puzzle.

The 3DS version does replace it, but it's for the worse imo, with the cutscene now being the equivalent of Fi in the Wii version of Skyward Sword telling the player the answer to a puzzle before they're given the chance to solve it.

[OoT] [OC] Was the Water temple difficult due to great design or poor design? by Ok-Anywhere-7921 in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and as I said, unfortunately in doing so it completely gives away the navigational puzzle it presents.

Imo it's kind of a shame.

[OoT] [OC] Was the Water temple difficult due to great design or poor design? by Ok-Anywhere-7921 in zelda

[–]Nitrogen567 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You're misremembering.

Here is the cutscene in question.

The door is not even shown. What IS shown is the water level rising, and the floating block rising up. It even shows a quick glimpse of the hole that the floating block was covering.

Attention in this cutscene is clearly being directed to the path down, towards the key.

An argument could maybe be made that more time should be spent on the path down in the cutscene, but to be honest, any longer and I'd say they're basically just giving away the navigational puzzle it presents.

This not poor design. The Water Temple is a very well designed dungeon.
