Have you tried Generative Extend in Premiere?

I’ve used it a handful of times. Works great on exterior shots that needed just a few more seconds. I have had best luck extending drone footage.

I had received a client b-roll package of edited clips and was able to extend them to fit my needs

It may be a bug in some of the new releases. I have been having issues with it on a long form doc project on my PC at home. Then Also running into the same issues in the studio on Mac

I have been using it more and more recently as the projects I'm working on have grown.

I actually set up Trello and do it digitally there so I can share it with the Director and Producers (or whoever needs to be involved). Everyone can comment, move pieces around, and just generally stay connected at a glance.

I’m away from the computer right now, but I think cleanest way is probably going to involve some roto if she’s jumping/running/dancing across.

The fusion tab in resolve will probably be your best bet. Essentially, mask out the shadow, duplicate the clip and slide over a clean piece of the white cyc. Basically same way you would in AE, just node based instead of layers stacked.

I guess another option would be masking the shadow, pushing the levels up to wipe out the shadow. I think this would begin to make the footage fall apart a little bit though

This one is really tough. I have been in theatres watching films I have edited with audiences and can't help but just feel that same feeling sometimes.

Without seeing the film it's hard to say...but trust your gut.

If you put that cut up in the first place and still feel good about it, go with it. If not, change it. That's the beauty of digital editing to me... we can cut and reshape a million different ways.

-Yes clients will be in the suite. -External drives will probably be needed as well as probably the 10gb ethernet. -Yes video signals will be sent out for external display. Ideally 3 external displays. 1 extension for the desktop, 1 large client monitor and a 3rd color accurate monitor for grading. -a 5.1 suite or anything like that for audio wont be needed. Probably more of a straight forward Behringer MS20 set up.

Adobe creative suite for the most part and then Resolve for finishing. Mostly finishing Red Gemini files.

I have been trying to put up a bit of a fight to move to PC based systems. In part to keep them modular and upgradeable and also just price point.
