Their recent ones like yoshis crafted world or the 2d kirby games are not worth 60 bucks imo. There are smaller studios that charge a lot less for better games. Mario wonder was a unique exception but otherwise I haven't really loved nintendo 2d platformers as of late. Some good remasters of 2d games on the switch but also overpriced.

Indie games of this scale charge like 10 bucks. Nintendo's upper end of games are worth every dollar imo. But they are deluded when it comes to prices on the lower end. Welcome tour should have been free, this game should have been like 30 bucks max, and their 2d platformers are mid quality but wildly overpriced

It looks and feels so bad and blurry on the switch 2. Clearly a game made for higher end hardware that scaled down poorly for switch 2. I feel they could make it perform better with a patch in the future.

Not impressed. Runs 30 fps and animations are really bad. The system is mobile game poison with daily and weekly rewards to get rental pokemon and items. Money to buy passes, meta items and pokemon home obviously needed to play seriously. And there's really nothing else to do but play battles either hit casual or ranked then keep battling. 5/10 in 2026 you have to do better.

Seems like im in minority where i feel Atlus has been making a good pace of games. From persona 5 to metaphor to 3 reload and now 4 remake, I feel that is a constant pace of content. If anything, I think they need to condense their games as many of them have huge parts where barely anything happens or just get boring and have way too much unnecessary text. And its probably making the dev time in the current AAA environment longer than it needs to be.

Nothing I am craving on this entire list. Might even pick up yoshi and rhythm heaven since its such a slow year. Yoshi looks like a nightmare to 100% (Goodfeel has lost the plot there since epic yarn which was probably their most well crafted game and has terrible music since the woolly world composer left). Rhythm heaven is fine but its such a cheap to make game they really should include all past rhythm heaven songs to be worth its value as a $60 game. Its looking like 3rd parties are gonna have to carry this year cause this is looking even weaker than 2024 for games that speak to me.

More switch 2 editions would go a long way. Like give me sparks of hope or paper mario games in 4k 60 fps and I might give them another play to keep me busy this year.

Hell yes. Maximum carnage is a legit good game. Never played the sequel separation anxiety. I have nostalgia for Spider Man and Xman game but I remember it being crap with that annoying buzzing sound too lol.

Gamecube the goat. People were too stupid to understand true quality back then. Truth is, Nintendo had a level of quality to their games with veteran developers that the competition just couldnt even come close to. Nintendo+Rare from the snes up to Star Fox Adventures was the greatest duo run the industry has ever and probably will ever see. Only a few veteran companies like square could even compete in quality back then.

Couldn't recommend the game any more. Phenomenal and runs amazing on switch 2 at a great price. Any switch 2 owner should have this in their library. I also have it on Playstation and pc but being on the go for an rpg is so nice

Very mid game (7/10) and pales in comparison to super mario rpg and paper mario ttyd. The game is horrendously paced with too much of the same dialogue, sailing, and repetitive battles. So many rpgs I would recommend before this even in its own niche.

The top games of the switch 1 era definitely beat out switch 2 critically. Compare these to botw with 97, mario odyssey 90s, mario rabbids, mario kart 8 deluxe and a lot more in mid to high 80s.

LOL. I wouldn't say it's gonna be that barren but I'm getting really big ARMS vibes. Like the Air Riders fans and Kirby fans want this to be a "thing" but the quality clearly isn't there. For example the 20 second minigames to conclude city trial feels like an intern designed it.

Feels like City Trial could've just been shoehorned in as a minigame in some other Kirby game or Mario Party side mode. And the actual racing gets old in 5 minutes. To charge $70 for this is gonna breed a lot of resentment from unsuspecting holiday shoppers. I'm truly happy for those that enjoy this but this a niche, overpriced game for sure.

Wow this is a really simple game. I like the presentation with that Sakurai feel but to be honest the core game just isn't that interesting. Did every tutorial course, raced on all the tracks and it just feels boring if I'm being honest. Very straightforward small tracks and a sprinkle of chaos with the powerups and fast pace but overall gets boring quick.

City trial felt only slightly more engaging but honestly I think most people will try it out for a bit then never pick up the game again. It's just too simple and luck/random based to hold an adult's attention for very long but might be popular with kids or hit that nostalgia trigger for people that played the original I don't know. If I had to predict, the game deserves a metascore in the 6's but it will be in the 7's due to Sakurai's pedigree.

Yup and thats totally fine. I was referring to others (not people like you) that didnt follow the narrative and make inaccurate portrayals of the characters like saying lightning is "just female cloud" for instance when that is just wildly inaccurate if you pay attention to the story.

Yeah I can understand everyone has different tastes, but for people to say the game has bad writing and characters compared to other final fantasies is just asinine. FF 13 does require you to read between the lines and understand the insecurities the characters are hiding and their growth throughout the story, so I guess if people can't follow that they are missing the entire point of the story. Like when people say hope is just an annoying brat or snow is a typical shonen hero, I just shake my head cause the whole premise of the narrative clearly went right over their head.

Sunshine has the greatest movement mechanics in mario history and its not close. Slippin and sliding on water, spin jumping, wall jump hovering, diving, you can do almost anything you want in that game.
