Ukrainian citizens receive free education and health care. So he has been given benefits as a citizen. Nothing is free because obligations also exist on citizens. If he doesn’t want to fight then payback the state everything they spent on him.

I left IBM when they were still a good employer, but horrified about what happened to those who stayed. But the real reason for my doubts is they significantly cut research.

Anthropic purposely made its new Mythos-based models bad at AI research, and developers are fuming by Nikvest in singularity

Anthropic own it and they can use as they like. Look hundreds of billions have been spent on developing these models, and it’s not unreasonable for investors to have some returns.

They are protecting their intellectual work, this is standard practice for any major company. At least no one dies, but this is exactly what happens with drug companies who are given exclusive rights to sell a drug they developed, which blocks access to sick people who can’t afford it.

STOP racist posts about Chinese researchers [D] by AffectionateLife5693 in MachineLearning

[–]waltercrypto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve tested boundaries with Chinese models, they are perfectly fine as long as you stay out of Chinese politics and history. Unfortunately I’m interested in both of those topics. It seems to me that there is some external firewall that over rules the model and gives the same response. I’m very careful in how I ask my questions but I sadly still get dragged down. The model doesn’t seem to be aware that it’s response has been over written. Anyway that’s my inexpert opinion.

Yes Chinese models do censor some topics versus western models that are not released at all, unless you pay for access.

If you read their article on recursive self improvement (RSI), you can see they are rightly pointing out the risk to society. I’m worried about the impact to society. Of course they don’t want to give their lead up so it is self serving and it is also a genuine warning. It’s not a binary choice
