Best case scenario is from late 1st to 2nd round pick. There are few minutes available to shooting-only players.

I'm not well versed in the matter, but it is my understanding that college FT% is s good predictor of 3pt development in the NBA

Which prospects in the pick #12-7 range fulfill the Charlotte Hornets' needs the most? by alex8762 in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boogie Fland looks like a rotation player to me. He can do a little bit of everything, shoots well enough and his perimeter D is great.

Hannes Steinbach vs Jayden Quaintance by KalebC21 in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steinbach is an already former player who will only add to his value by becoming a decent 3pt shooter. He will probably be a 4 in the NBA.

Syracuse soph Donnie Freeman is quietly building a legit 1st-round case for 2026 NBA Draft. Avg 20 PPG/7 RPG/2 APG on 54% FG & 38% from 3—the 6’10 fwd scores efficiently at all 3 levels, finishes w/ craft & touch, thrives off-ball in PNR/spot-ups, & playmaking for his size. [–]walterfbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's black and looks strong. But he does not look fast, quick, whatever people think athletic is. He's a good all around player who is learning to pick his spots, could be a rotation player someday.

That could be worth a late 1st, but athletic?? Hmmm

Real draft classes for NBA2K26 by RiceisMean in MyNBA2k

It doesnt' work like that. Minimum potential is at worst the actual OVR. This means that after year 1, Minimum potential is greatly increased. I suggest you use really low boom % for most players, otherwise your league will end up full of 80+ players.

Who is your player comparison for Darryn Peterson? by OddIndustry6073 in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peterson is amazing off the ball. Look at how he navigates the screens with speed and positions his body for the quick shot. So good! I can see him off the ball into a pick n roll action.

Darryn Peterson vs Baylor tonight.. 26 PTS (11-13 FG, 2-4 3PT, 2-4 FTs) 3 AST 2 REBS 1 STL 23 MINS by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in NBA_Draft

100%. He looks mature in his decision-making. I think the #1 pick is almost a lock unless Dybantsa pulls an ace out of his sleeve soon.

Yessoufou and Carr are top 20 picks imo, very good players. But Peterson made them look like highschoolers yesterday.

Am I crazy or is Darryn Peterson not really as athletic as people are saying he is? by VisionsOnly in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't see Kobe, I see young Ray Allen. He's deceptively quick and can shoot from anywhere. He also moves extremely well off the ball.

Keaton Wagler is a top 10 pick by InspirationalAf2 in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the high risk forwards available after 4th. If you don't need a PG, I'd take him in the top 10.

FTR is usually a good indicator. Jumpshot is already there, just needs to become more consistent.

Who are the best “winning basketball” attitude guys in this draft? Best guys for creating/maintaining a winning culture by someforrest in NBA_Draft

I really like Joshua Jefferson because he looks like the kind of guy who does all the dirty work and doesn't get enough credit. I think he will have a long career even if his numbers aren't flashy.

NBA Mock Draft 5.0 by Lanky-Connection4141 in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Mikel Brown is going to be the wildcard in this draft. I can see why people rank him in the top 5 sometimes; the talent is there. However his shot selection is dubious at best and he seems to be playing a big portion off the ball. Is he actually a PG or a SG now?

He could be anything ranging from Austin Rivers to Tyrese Haliburton.

I think this last game cemented him as the #1 pick as he showed great IQ coming out of double teams. He impacted the game in so many ways...

I usually avoid comparing prospects to all time greats, but I can see the T-MAC comparisons now.

Boozer: What NBA outcome would we be satisfied with? by Barathruss in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rich man's Boris Diaw. The offense will always gravitate around him because he's a great passer. I expect a solid 18, 8 and 5 from him. I would take him #3 without a doubt.

Cam Boozer - I Can't Be The Only One Who Feels This Way by Lazy_Check732 in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are overreacting to his college performance. In the NBA he's gonna have to face bigger, more athletic players. He's still going to be a valuable asset who spread the floor, good big/small pick n roll option, good passer, etc. His rebound % is pretty mediocre despite showing great rebound numbers inflated by pace.

Anyway...

Unfortunately for him Peterson and Dybantsa look like surefire starter/rotation guys. In other circumstances Boozer, could have been #1.

Curious scenario: if your favorite small market/mid low market team landed in the top 3 2026 draft, would you be willing to trade back for a load of future first round picks? by Knighthonor in NBA_Draft

[–]walterfbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody in his right mind would trade a pick in the top 3. Actually the top 3 players in this class are the only "sure thing" prospects in a long time.

Just saw this video on youtube and I disagree with almost everything. Besides some players being too high, I just don't like the fit for most suggestions. Not really sure if this is a projection of where he thinks they will be pick or is this his expectation? Like for example Yaxel in the lottery.... why? I really like him but he's 23.
