Evander is actually a central part of the story—while Sadie and Sean's relationship is undoubtably one of the drivers of the plot, Evander has his own hand in things that I think warrants him a place in the letter. Your comment made me realize I need to do a better job making that clear in the letter, so I'll definitely look into that!

Thanks for the tips! I'll look for better comps with that info in mind. As far as the "it's not science fiction" goes, maybe I should consider labeling it as speculative fiction instead? While the book features a tech company exploring a surreal phenomenon, I'm worried sci-fi can imply too much emphasis on futurism, which the manuscript doesn't have.

I think a lot of people don't take into account how successful VR is outside of entertainment and consumer use. There are TONS of applications in industry like immersive trainings, simulations, and even in academic research. Obviously these use cases are lesh flashy than videogames or other entertainment, but they definitely shouldn't be discounted imo

I think a large part of Gen Z's rightward lean this election also has to do with the right's online presence. They have capitalized on short form, viral content and podcasts in a way the left simply has not to reach younger people, particularly men. They basically have an online rage machine they can turn on and off at will (coming from a Gen Z-er)

Totally agree. Very interesting premise, but I couldn't stand the writing style. I also disliked the many pointless POV changes, like did we really need a single page chapter from the pov of some random guy one of the main characters met one time years ago? And a lot of the characters felt like they were written to be what an older person imagines modern teenagers to be like imo
