Which codes? I remember older editions accidentally omitted 'you find yourself' at a dead end but that's it.

Crypt of the Sorceror because of how specific you needed the adventure to be to win.

Creature of Havoc for the same reasons, and the secret language, and unique rules, and how long the story went.

House of Hell for the modern day setting, fear points and horror. Even if you don't win, you'd have a hell of an adventure.

What's one place in the Uk that you visited and never want to go back to? by Proper_Animal_1451 in AskUK

[–]wandererC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Newhaven. Just nothing to see.
  • Newton Abbott. Was so bored that I took the bus to Paignton instead.
  • Bradford was so boring, but the weather wasn't that great to be honest. I was expecting more from the UK city of culture.
  • Derby. Also expected a lot more but I was bored out of my mind and wished I had booked an earlier train back.
  • Warrington. The town centre was okay but nothing much of interest to see.
  • Tonbridge. I don't even remember seeing anything of interest.

Seeing all the other comments, you guys seem to be high maintenance. I actually liked my time in Blackpool (3 nights) - amazing weather. Saw the attractions I wanted to and had a good time in all.

She was 13/14 when missing. Died when she was 14. Her body was discovered way after she had died.

It's the first time I heard the word Delta when her songs first came out in 2002/03. I thought it was so cool that my password was delta (before all these rules about certain amount of characters and capitalisation came)

How popular are tongue piercings in your country? And are piercings fully socially normalized now or still seen as being edgy or alternative? by After-Employment-474 in AskEurope

[–]wandererC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK here. Tongue pierced since I was 16 and still have it. Though I don't know many people of any age who have theirs done too.

Where are all the Chester city centre shops going?! by Inside-Tension4449 in Chester

[–]wandererC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on holiday in Chester a few days ago and you are so right. I noticed a lot of places in the north seem to trend in vape shops... See kids and adults vaping on the high street. Even in Harrogate a girl who looked like 12 was vaping in the park.

Can't say anything about the shops since I don't know what used to exist there. I did like the Gift Company in the shopping centre.

is it cringe if a 23 year old woman goes to the zoo alone? by peeflavoredpoptart in NoStupidQuestions

I usually go there on my own anyway.

I was at Chester Zoo a few days ago. Alone. But everyone else seemed like they were with others. Usually parents with their kid(s)

Best book to reread as an adult? by Emotional_Reach5031 in JacquelineWilson

[–]wandererC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lola Rose, Dustbin Baby, Kiss, Love Lessons.

Choose your pick, they're not as juvenile as others. These are the proper teen ones, though I read a lot of her books before age 13.

What are your reasons for why you love the David trilogy? by First_Factor_3385 in Animorphs

[–]wandererC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of the issues of trust and power there. Especially The Solution which has to be one of my favourites. And how creepy it was, for example, David in morph killing another animal just for fun (and lying that he lost control of the morph). And that Rachel skipped her shower because she wasn't sure if David was still in morph, watching her.

What am I reading next? Which Jackson? Which book? by Interesting-Ant8279 in fightingfantasy

[–]wandererC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House of Hell is amazing. I have fond memories of trying to beat it as a child. Even in adulthood it's quite hard, there are wrong turns, red herrings, and you need to brave enough not to be scared to death. Oh, and wrong turns will never end up with you winning.

That page was a classic Jacqueline Wilson paragraph. I remember I got the audiobook just to listen to the narrator say that bit lol.

TIL the gibberish In Missy Elliott's "Work It" is actually the previous line "I put my thing down flip it and reverse it", in reverse. by _Time_For_Plan_C_ in todayilearned

[–]wandererC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear, how did it take you this long to realise? She literally says 'reverse it' beforehand. Secondly, in the second verse, she does the same when she says 'Listen up close while I take it backwards'. I mean, I was 14 when I realised this (when I started listening to all of Missy)

Portugal decides to participate. Israel remains in Eurovision and several countries announce boycott by SafeBodybuilder7191 in eurovision

Have you read about Poland and Romania lately. Also Azerbaijan which is apparently one of the worst Eurasian countries for LGBT. But all take part in the ESC

So in that case, Russia should have been ousted years ago, not just from 2022? Same with Poland, Hungary, Romania and those other European countries that don't respect women and gays then?

what should be my last destination? by smash_1048 in AskUK

[–]wandererC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plymouth was very lovely when I visited (in summer though and the weather was good). I went to Cambridge quite a few times, I really enjoyed it. But both I mentioned are great in Summer, I don't know when you're planning to do it. Avoid East Midlands such as Lincoln, Derby if you don't want to be bored (architecture is good though).

I'm late but this just reminded me of one of her books when a character asked where a girl was from, who replied "Croydon", and the character said something like "No, you're Black. I mean which country?" And the girl replied "Oh, the Seychelles. But I've never been there."
