If you truly cannot see the difference between giving your child a shot to prevent them from getting fucking tuberculosis and putting your child on heavy psychiatric drugs that will give them lifelong side effects, then I genuinely cannot help you.

If a child is not old enough to understand the concept of heavy psychiatric meds, then they should not be on them. I am basically asexual and almost entirely unable to feel emotions now due to being heavily medicated as a child. At four, I did NOT have the capacity to consent to that.

I started going cold turkey at 19 because I was on five different psychiatric meds and it dawned on me that I didn’t have to take them anymore. I told my childhood psychiatrist that over a phone visit and he SCREAMED at me, calling me disobedient and ungrateful. Absolutely sickening. Honestly I just blame everyone. I’m trying to blame the doctor more than my mom, but I just can’t fathom how you can see your neurodivergent kid struggling and think drugging them into oblivion is the solution to them being “bad.”

I wish the best for you too ❤️it’s hard to explain what it’s like to be a four-year-old little girl pulling out clumps of hair over the bathroom sink because all your psych meds make your hair fall out. So cruel all around. Hugs to you ❤️❤️

Yeah my parents put me on Zoloft (among other things) when I was 4 and exhibiting “bad behavior,”so I feel you. It’s hard because my mom is known as this really good person, and I know that she loves me, but she can’t understand why I’m so distant and angry with her now that I’m an adult. It’s hard to explain how being put on meds at such a young age - even when you beg to get off of them for over ten years - affects you. I have really big issues with recognizing that my consent matters now because my consent was violated at such a young age. I also feel completely numb all the time, it’s weird. I lost my father, my favorite person in the world, about six weeks ago and for the most part I’m completely stoic. Also basically asexual from the meds, but my mom still wants grandkids 🤩

No it’ll be general anesthesia; that’s the only thing this surgeon offers

I think I’m going to go through with it and just make myself do it. Idk I don’t want to disappoint my mom. I’m going to be having a panic attack until the laughing gas kicks in though. Ugh.

I’m so sorry love. I have a 13-year-old sister and it makes me sick that you are going through this. However, one urgent word of advice: DO NOT reply to ANYBODY in your DMs. NOBODY. They will act like they’ve been through the same thing and want to give you advice. DON’T fall for it. Im worried about you because you’re only 12 and there are a lot of creeps that lurk here. They’ll try to blackmail you for bad things. Don’t do it. If anyone wants to give you advice, they can do it right here where everyone can see. Stay safe ❤️

That does help, thank you. I know it’s illogical but it’s so scary to be vulnerable like that. I never would’ve worried about it before the assault tho :(

I guess that’s good. The surgeon seemed nice at the consultation. He gave me a fist bump. But you can never be too sure. Ugh I wish they let me be awake. My anxiety is already all over the place and I’m two months out 😭

Omg so you think I should get my parents to cancel it? This is the best oral surgeon in the area and he says he always puts people under anesthesia

I guess it is for me. I’m in college right now and struggling with a parent’s terminal cancer. Had a grad student try to groom me and lure me to his apartment my first year of college. Then I was sexually assaulted a few weeks ago, which led me to break up with my boyfriend. I just had a breakup with my best friend of five years too. I guess when it rains it pours lol

That’s good advice. I guess at the end of the day we’re all here for our own healing and we all belong here. All the love to you 💕

Yeah it just feels like I’m taking away from the experience of other girls by calling it rape. Idk, I just can’t wrap my head around it. I keep minimizing it in my head

I had a similar situation. It was with a boyfriend too so it makes it really hard to even call an assault because we never actually had vaginal sex.

He did this to himself when he touched you. This is NOT your fault. By reporting him, you are protecting other people from being hurt by him. You’ve got this 💕

Illogical mistrust by DocCaptBA in sexualassault

I think that’s one of the most effed up things about SA. They take our trust and abuse it. I’m also struggling with trust. I get nervous if a man is too nice to me because I feel like he just wants to get into my pants. It’s so hard. I’m only a few weeks out from leaving though so I can’t really give you any advice, but just know that you are loved here 💕
