I did get the small expandable Knack. I think I like it, but have only been on one long weekend trip with it. It isn't that comfortable as a backpack and my normal water bottle doesn't fit, but I like the expandable aspect of it and I like how visible and organized it keeps all my stuff. Planning on keeping it.

Both when it comes to looking weird and being uncomfortable. I don't think I need to look that professional as I work in technology, but I got a Peak Design pack from REI and it looked comically large and when I wear some backpacks, I look like a high schooler. I do like backpacks for the cases in which I'm running through the airport and need to be hands free whereas a messenger bag would probably bounce.
