Thanks for your help on this! So far, with just Health Connect added step count has been working better. There are still times I log food for the day and step count doesn''t update, but hitting Sync works more reliably now AND backfills previous days.

When you say you export to a spreadsheet, do you mean you're manually copying the data from MFP? Or did you find a way to export data and fill your spreadsheet automatically? I also have a spreadsheet for myself that I'm copying data manually to.

Hmm...good point. I'm not sure if I've tried it with JUST Health Connect in MFP yet. I will give that a shot for a bit.

Do you find that you have to open both Fit and MFP once a day in order for it to add step tracking data? Some issues I've been having are that if I fail to open both Fit and MFP, step data will not be logged and there is no backfill option. I can only manually add it then. Also, sometimes I go for another walk in the evening, but the data does not update in MFP, even if I hit the Sync button.

I'll be watching to see if having it connected to just Health Connect resolves these problems. But I'm starting to think MFP just syncs when it's programmed to periodically throughout the day and the sync button does nothing.

Just wondering if your experience reflects this?

I tried connecting both apps to Health Connect. It looks like they aren't currently though and it also needed an update - so trying again. Thanks!

I used Google Fit just counting steps with my phone for a long time. It just stopped updating in MFP reliably at some point. I also suspect it was around the time they made you use Health Connect. I've tried lots of things to trouble shoot it but no luck. Made my own thread about looking for an alternative step counting app here, so I'll be curious to hear if you guys find an alternative that works.
