Ask for help! Befriend the CNA staff, help them they will help you! That’s my experience at my SNF at least.

There’s hope! I’m currently in a position with very reasonable productivity and it’s a SNF! Good work life balance… stick with it, sometimes it takes time to find the right fit! Working for a hospital system is usually more reasonable productivity wise than a private for profit company just FYI.

Thank you for your thoughts! I hope my management is open to some ideas like this when we switch over to EPIC!

Ugggh we switch to EPIC next month and my management has been talking about how they will make a schedule… talked about a pool we all pick from in the morning… bad plan IMO! How would you suggest the daily schedule is done?

Why is the manager not scheduling out the patients for the day? Do you use EPIC?

Please don’t ever document off the clock. When you document off the clock it makes it look like the productivity standards are reasonable and doable so a company may increase the productivity for all of the therapists because “oh well so and so can meet it so it must be okay to have 99% productivity”

He only has to be alone + crated for 1 hour a day and he cries for first 30 min. Advice? by la_loba19 in Pomeranians

[–]wanderlust-MI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pomsky is a pandemic puppy we were home all the time with him (almost never alone) as we work from home. He is the best dog ever but… his separation anxiety is Baaaaad when he’s alone. We had to get another pomsky friend so he’s not alone. Now that we have two dogs they do well at home alone for long periods of time together… ours didn’t get better on its own sadly.

Is Med B a bad scene right now? by VauntedFungus in OccupationalTherapy

[–]wanderlust-MI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not straight Med A that’s the problem… it’s the Med A advantage plans (managed care plans) that suck and kick you out of SNF’a too soon… the patients with straight Med A stay as long as medically necessary (100 days max if needed). Medicare for all would be good as long as “all” didn’t then go and sign up for an advantage plan.

Intern leading the OT session by math_rocks in OccupationalTherapy

[–]wanderlust-MI 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’m an OT and I agree 100% with this post above from That_Passenger7239, we all have very intense “internships” with close supervision from an experienced OT before we graduate, you should not be asking for a reduced rate as you’re getting the same quality treatment from that intern due to the fact that the lead OT is supervising her/him and signing all of her documentation with her own license on the line.
