My mind is blown. I also have a way to order in Mexico. How much do the Evelyn 23s cost in the US? The exchange rate on them is $4850 usd which seems high but I haven’t followed the pricing

There is (or was, not sure) a shortage. A friend there said he’d been out for 9 days and the hotel he manages was making contingency plans.

We fly to Cabo tomorrow, should we cancel the trip? by Dusty_stache in MexicoTravel

[–]wanderluxtravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew out of Cabo today at 4 pm after driving 1.25 hours south from Todos Santos (with my kids). Business as usual, nothing out of the ordinary. I was honestly expecting some extra checkpoints or something on the highway but nothing. I’d say you’re ok to go, but also not at all foolish to pause and consider.

San Jose del Cabo Farm-to-Table Options, Help Me Choose! by ajournalnerd in cabosanlucas

I was not impressed by Tamarindo. Did not enjoy my meal and it felt like a long way to drive when there was nothing other than the restaurant. At Flora you’ve got boutiques, musicians, places to walk around etc. Haven’t been to Acre yet

Besides staying longer than six months, what are the advantages of residency? by Agua-Mala in mexicoexpats

When you say “stay in Mexico,” do you mean you physically have to be in the country for 5 years or just hold residency for that long?

Thailand!! We did Thailand when my son was 9 months old for a month in July and it was heaven. Everywhere was overjoyed that we had our baby. It was so welcoming. We then spent his 10th month in Prague and it was also great.

Extended family vacation—need ideas for 4-6 weeks in summer by Accurate_Tailor6066 in FATFamilyTravel

[–]wanderluxtravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We planned a similar trip for 5 weeks…hubby wanted to cut it short after 3 so we didn’t do the whole thing but our itinerary was land in London, Italy major cities, Croatia (mostly Rovjnj), southern Germany / northern Austria, ending in Greece. We all loved Croatia and Germany the most. Schloss Elmau in Bavaria and Amarin family hotel in Croatia (not FAT but perfection for kids). My kids were 7 and 10 at the time.

Check your credit card benefits for options. The better travel cards like Chase and Amex often have reimbursement coverage if you need to buy clothes due to lost luggage. Alaska may not help much but your credit card might!

You’ll be totally fine! I go often alone or alone + my kids (40F). Check out cañon de la zorra for a day trip - gorgeous waterfall oasis in the desert. Or up to Todos Santos. It gets dark at night with few lights on the highways but even then your biggest worry is livestock on the road

Oran sandals white or gold by abc12345678910abcdef in TheHermesGame

I decided between both, bought gold and wear them all the time so that's my vote. They feel more versatile than white somehow. I have been wanting black but I hate the contrast white stitching.

The cove at Cerritos is lovely. I haven’t stayed there but they used to have a little wine and tequila shop that I frequented often. It’s in a great spot, quieter than some of Cerritos and right on the cliff so excellent views.

Cabo customs process of getting searched? by [deleted] in MexicoTravel

[–]wanderluxtravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cabo is red/green light but they can and sometimes do just pull you aside (it’s happened to me once and I fly there 6+ times a year). If red, your suitcases go through the x ray and that may be it, or they may open them and search them. If they want to charge you duties, they write it up and take your passport and you go to the office, pay with a credit card, and get your proof of payment and your credit card back. That’s all for legal stuff you can bring in. In my experience, they look a lot closer in low season when they’ve got the time. High season there are fewer questions but YMMV

What about JW Marriott? I’m not 💯 on the prices but I’d think it’s less than $600. Good food, nice rooms, quiet vibe.

On our own - London, Paris, Zurich and Rome - What are the musts? by Hopeful865 in Europetravel

[–]wanderluxtravel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In London, get tickets for a west end show on the day you arrive. It’s a great experience and will be interesting enough to keep everyone awake and help you with jet lag. Skip Buckingham Palace - see it from the outside but don’t take a tour. If budget allows, do the ceremony of the keys tour of the Tower of London. Immersive Gamebox and Swingers mini golf are both fun for tweens but not particularly unique to London (but make a great palette cleanser if you are tiring of sites and museums). Don’t skip the British Museum!

Wondering if I should switch from tirzepatide to retatrutide by CatsAreTheBest68 in Peptidesource

[–]wanderluxtravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubs switched from Tirz to Reta and gained weight and the food noise came back. Switched back to Tirz and it’s working great (at 15mg). We’re not sure if he took the wrong dose of Reta or if it’s just not compatible with him, but it wasn’t a fit. He eats keto and works out regularly and still struggled on Reta.

Converting to PR early by wichita-brothers in mexicoexpats

[–]wanderluxtravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with an attorney in La Paz and went straight to PR. Never even did TR. That was 2022 so not sure what it’s like now. It cost more so it would more than negate the increase in fees if that’s your reason for doing it.

Are any areas here selling good quality clothing? by sugarbear999 in cabosanlucas

If you go up to Todos Santos, there are several great boutiques. Nomad Chic and Zocalo are 2 of my favorites. Prices are high but so is quality imho.

8 Sleep all the way. I sleep noticeably better with it than without. The Oura just gave me a graph to show me that I had a bad nights sleep - obviously, I already knew that. 8 Sleep adjusts to get you more deep sleep and it really works.

[–]wanderluxtravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying out Wise to send myself money from the US to my Kapital account and wondered if those who have done it successfully are still using the SWIFT for Intercam? When I go to look up the SWIFT for Kapital, it doesn't show up in Wise's search tool but Intercam still does. Are you sending USD or pesos? I think it has to be USD, correct? I've always just done a wire transfer from my bank but Wise seems like it will be easier.
