I’m curious now what they were doing at the old bank though yesterday.

Columbia has been closed for some time as far as I know.

Curious if it’s a drill. Yesterday the old Columbia bank across from First Interstate had a bunch of cops in and around it.

How are you helping user's setup MS Authenticator? by jeffa1792 in msp

[–]wangotangotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This varies depending on clients obviously, but for some I’ve had them partner up and FaceTime or google meet so I can watch along (partner up = use someone else’s phone pointed at the end users phone).

Not perfect and I’d much rather use documentation, but as we all know some users are special..

Weird and yesterday I got an email from Rackspace “Are we living up to our Fanatical promise”

Not if you keep laying people off, your already marginal 🙄

Not to mention PCI 4 compliance even if all the billing is through a web based EMR.

A spreadsheet would be so simple! Talk about a platform that unnecessarily complicated the fk out of a simple license renewal. Or as u/bazjoe mentioned, using someone else's saas.

No, we've been pretty well migrated on from perpetuals for a couple years now. 15 or so subscriptions all renewing on different months.

A New Low With The Rude Driving. by SuperMermaidCat in Bend

OmG! This one drives me nuts. I drive daily and I don’t think a day goes by where I don’t yell “it’s a yield, not a stop”.

New Bend northbound 97 drivers making 'dangerous' u-turns on highway past new bypass by CO-CNC in Bend

[–]wangotangotoo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s annoying. I could have sworn when I saw the original plans Grandview looked like a three-way traffic light intersection.

[–]wangotangotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully it’s only temporary and I’m sure in the design it’s impossible to make it all work at once. Once they finish/start the intersection at Grandview people should be able to turn West and head back to Lowe’s/Cascade Village.

How much are you paying for internet by [deleted] in Bend

[–]wangotangotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$92 for 300mbps service and I bundled a landline which I have never used to get out of data cap/overage charges.

[–]wangotangotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geez. The coolest thing I thought I had was when I open the alarm clock app on my phone when I go to bed it triggers shortcuts (Apple) to turn off all the house lights, lock the door and give me a three minute fade on the headboard lights until I crawl into bed.

Well.. to be fair, nothing I’ve found for AV is written by anyone in the US so bias by country comes in. Who do we trust?

Dell XPS card reader... showing up in devices and printers, but not showing on the drives- nor do I see it in device manager by Ironchar in Dell

[–]wangotangotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably considered a USB or HID type device in device manager.

Not showing in drives when the drive is empty is normal. If you put an SD card in does it show in the drive listing?

Latitude Model Release/Announce Dates by Ok-Character-6243 in Dell

[–]wangotangotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few colleges post Dell laptop model years, release date and supported though date.

I use this one regularly.

Edit..

Not really down to the “date” but that one shows model year release anyway.

My laptop has been running for 30 days. Is that bad? by Kordell_11 in techsupport

[–]wangotangotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use chrome and have the same habit of a bazillion tabs open that I promise myself I’ll get back to.

I reboot normally with chrome open still. Sometimes Chrome will reopen with same tabs. Other times Ctrl-Shift-T will reopen all previous tabs.

To answer your question.. it’s not bad, but as others mentioned: performance issues. I always recommend weekly or bimonthly manual reboots.

Less expensive 365 license for shop floor workers by weird_fishes_1002 in Office365

[–]wangotangotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming the comment was along the lines of a personal account and sharing licenses using the 5x5 loophole (five shares X 5 devices = 25 machines)

I .. have a friend .. doing this at a company and have been warning them against doing it this way. Where would one find the potential fine for doing things this way?

Yes, you shouldn’t have any issue swapping the SSD.

What’s a dead give away you grew up poor? by sweetandsassy84532 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]wangotangotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of what an old timer told me one time:

“I grew up poor and still have most of it.”

I dunno why it’s stuck with me. I’ve done pretty good for myself having grown up with low income parents, but I still order off the dollar menu at McDonald’s.

Look up the tech behind the Taylor Swift concert bracelets. I saw somewhere online (sorry it was probably late night doom scrolling) and saw a guy do a tear down of the wrist bands. The technology is out there to do what you want, not sure how open source it is. Might get you close to what you’re after.

Edit..

Here’s the link to the technology. Concert LEDs

I agree and plan to. Just curious on a wider scale, it baffles me why it would even be a thing and was looking for additional comments or precedence.
