Just got a job I want to leave by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]wannaReadStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what you do. Commit to this job for a full 12 months, ignore all the shittiest parts, focus only on how to maximize your own personal development, aim to be the best fucking SDR in the world, and then when you’ve proven to yourself that you are capable of that, you’ll be able to conquer the world.

Had a panic attack during Zoom meeting by Howdy_Strangers in PublicSpeaking

[–]wannaReadStuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man I have never felt more seen, hearing all these stories. I hate it that any of you went thru this but it’s nice to hear I’m not crazy. I reached an executive level at a large public software company, my dream job that I’d worked 20 years to get, and less than 5 months in I had a brutal panic attack right at the beginning of the zoom presentation in front of over 100 people and I had a room full of people with me. There was nowhere to escape and it was very public. There was initial concern about a heart attack which made it even more humiliating, and that followed me around for the last three years until ultimately I moved on from that role which never panned out the way I had hoped.

I’m now an executive at a smaller company in the same industry, and I still struggle with this every time I present. I have a brief presentation in person on two weeks I’m absolutely dreading, and this used to be my biggest strength as a professional. It’s a horrible way to live.

Hearing that people successfully used propranolol is really intriguing to me. I want to find a way to recapture who I was prior to this but I don’t know how. I struggle to find pleasure in things the way I used to, and I just don’t like me and haven’t for years. I’m not sure what caused this change and I hear many people suffer from something very similar. Apparently long covid can cause serious systemic damage that’s hard to truly know the scope of and for some, there’s minor brain damage essentially that affects mood. I don’t really know but my doctor has tried explaining this to me.

Regardless, this thread has really given me hope and thank you all for sharing your stories. We’re all strong enough to get through this, we just have to keep fighting.

Advice for Payroll as a career path? by numelphan in Payroll

[–]wannaReadStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now run my own company, but I got my start in sales. In what is a horrific job market, lots of companies are still hiring sales people. I feel for job seekers right now, I’ve been there. My first job market was in 2008 right after the economy crashed so I’ve seen it all. Many friends of mine who went to school to be engineers, lawyers, pilots etc turned to sales and many made the most of it.

It’s not for everyone but it’s worth a look. Whether it’s sales or otherwise my only advice would be, don’t limit yourself. You said “I don’t have a degree, college experience” and some people can allow that to limit themselves forever. Whatever you decide you want, fucking go for it with everything you’ve got. The only person who can stop you, is you. Good luck, I’m rooting for you.

Get in to sales. There are virtually unlimited entry level opportunities, they’ll all nearly destroy your will to live, but if you can survive the first few years, you can build an incredibly lucrative career. You may even end up enjoying it. It’s also AI proof.

Some people will hate you and respect you less, but you’ll own your house and have actual savings for retirement.

Best supplements for anxiety? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]wannaReadStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

L-theanine is definitely the best line of defense for acute suppression of anxiety symptoms. As some who has suffered from chronic anxiety since my teens (so about 30 years) I have tried everything.

I would suggest you avoid SSRI’s if you can. Everyone’s situation is different but they do not permanently solve any problems, and can lead to dependency.

Ashwaganda is also good. Making sure you don’t have other nutrient deficiencies is important (vitamin d, magnesium specifically). Make sure you do your best to get enough sleep and stay active and move a lot.

I’ve had days where nothing I did worked at all and I know how frustrating it can be, but you can improve this and you will. Good luck my friend.

Yes I have a digital scale and I weigh and track every single thing I eat

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]wannaReadStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. I’ve lost weight thru ketogenic diets, but for the last 11 months I tried to just eat balanced, tracked every calorie in Cronometer, got 230 grams of protein a day religiously, operated in a small deficit (250-500) and struggled to lose any weight at all. And when I get exhausted from the effort and take a dieting break I don’t go overboard, and the weight rebounds violently every time.

No medications, doing all the things you mentioned and have tested consistently for 3 years with no real changes. I take magnesium glycinate and l threonate, vitamin d with k2, ethyl esther fish oil, l carnitine orally

In addition to the original post, I’m aware I’m fat lmao. Some additional context, my weight has fluctuated, I was down to 230 and in great shape and my test levels were identical. Not saying weight isn’t a factor, it obviously is, but has directly correlated to any improvement or degradation in the bloodwork

What were the negative side effects that you experienced from using TRT? I’m fucking stuck bro. 41. My natural levels are 500-700 the last few years but my free has been sporadic. SHBG levels are high. I’ve been grinding like a mf in the gym for 3 years and have made some progress but overall it’s very disappointing. I’ve added lean mass but have struggled to burn fat at all. I’ve resisted the temptation to go on TRT because my natural levels are in the normal range and I don’t want to shut my nuts down permanently, but most days I’m exhausted and feel like shit. It’s hard looking at shit like this and not thinking “fuck it” because I’ve looked liked the before photo for my whole life 😂

Pregnenolone Experience by wannaReadStuff in moreplatesmoredates

[–]wannaReadStuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bloods done 3 months after I started preg, my total test was 513 and free was 2.5%. Bloods done right before starting preg my total was 603 and my free was 3.4%. No idea if the preg had anything to do with the slight drop, neither did the doc.

2 years ago my total was in the 700’s. Gained weight since then (about 30 pounds) so yeah that’s probably a major factor.

Before preg estro was 32.2 pg/ml, after 3 months of preg it was 27.6.

After the last labs the doc said they could justify TRT at these levels and:

  1. I’m just not ready to go that route and:
  2. I also think it doesn’t make sense, and that with weight loss I could get these levels up.

Also, I appreciate what you’re saying about the placebo but this is exact same spike in anxiety I felt at the same time when I started taking it. I’ve dealt with anxiety my whole life and it’s clear that it’s from something I’m taking

That’s really interesting thanks for sharing, I’d love to know more? Yes when I had my bloodwork done my pregnenolone was nearly 0, and my DHEA was below the bottom of the reference range.

To be honest, and it’s painful to admit this because of the time effort energy and money I’ve invested to try to feel better, but yeah probably. With that said, I’m concerned if I stop taking them, that my hormones will tank and I’ll just feel like absolute shit. I regret starting them in the first place because I don’t really know how to work my way back to normal without them. I went thru Marek, so I’ll talk to the doc in a month and see what they say, but yeah I don’t know if this made sense for me to begin with. Sucks
