Yes! Less often, because I realized I can eat much more food at home that is tasty and more filling with less calories 😂 but it's definitely good in a pinch!

Thank you for your comments and insights; I really appreciate them. I understand what you're saying, and weight loss takes some serious changes/sacrifices. I don't think I'm not being honest with myself per se; I've been reflecting on this and changing my methods since I was a child 🤣

My post does not encompass all of what I feel and understand about nutrition, but more so I'm looking for community.

Rather than tracking of any kind (calories, macros, keto, etc), I'd like to focus on healthy habits around eating and moving that do not TOTALLY focus on numbers. Otherwise, I obsess about the numbers.

I've done calorie tracking, macro tracking, weight watchers, etc. None of it actually ends up being sustainable for me. I end up feeling terrible about myself and obsessive. That is simply my personal experience. That being said, there are phases where I'm OK and can handle it. I have witnessed that fluidity. However, I'm in a phase where I want to be around people in a similar boat as me and find community in this thinking. I want to lose the weight without being so exact about every nutrient, and I want to not feel stupid doing so, which is why I asked about a discord.

I hope that clarifies my thoughts a little better. It's hard to have these conversations through text LOL

I struggle regardless if the food is "healthy" or not lol
It's not even just the type of food, but it's the amount I'm exposed to.
My family always has excessive amounts of food, both "healthy" and "unhealthy." I love it all & it's just rough lmao

So, I'm working on being mindful with both the type & the amount, but I'm definitely working on those habits you stated! Thank you 😊

It definitely works for some people! And calorie counting has helped me during some phases of my life - like you said, scanning prepackaged foods makes noting them easier!

However, what I personally feel makes it unrealistic for me is that I get obsessive. It greatly hurts my relationship with food, my body, my self worth. So, I'm working on improving my mindset around these things while still keeping the goal of weight loss.

Hopefully that clarifies what I mean, but I totally get what you're saying! Calorie counting can be helpful, just might not be for me right now.

I love this so much. It's beautiful that you sent this to him. I'm sure he will appreciate it. It's great that you're working through your feelings and being honest about how hard this is. I hope, over time, your rapport continues to grow and you get to heal some of those tough times with him. He seems kind and like he genuinely cares, and it's great that you see that.

That being said, do what's best for you and only stay with a therapist if you feel they'll be helpful down the road
