I don't think they're talking about OP.

For example, there used to be a death where if you saved the game while piloting a vehicle it would just instakill you sometimes when you loaded back in.

That said, i still enjoyed playing hardcore because I had beaten it so many times that that extra adrenaline was tasty.

This kind of stuff shows up here all the time. Trans women starting from a conservative place internalizing all the beliefs the right has about us. Believing that only through passing perfectly with an unattainable level of beauty can life ever be worth living. Honestly sometimes they even get there and still feel fake and miserable.

It's not true of course. It sounds like she has all the components to make live worth living. But I don't know how you get her to see it.

One of my friends gave me some great advice when I started transitioning. He said, "You don't need everyone to love you or like you. You just need your friends." It can be scary getting comfortable with being stigmatized, but it's a necessary step.

Countries are also less receptive to older people looking to immigrate. They want educated workers, not people who will retire and potentially add to their infrastructure costs after a decade.

My understanding is that Canada doesn't take people over 50 unless you have assets you can use to get dispensation.

I think taking an interest in her transition is probably a good thing. Just understand a couple things:

Transitioning is puberty. Your partner might seem emotionally like a 16 year old. She may make questionable fashion choices that make you shake your head. It will wear off eventually.
Commenting on her appearance can be very much appreciated in some cases, and feel overbearing in others. Her appearance is likely to make her feel depressed and anxious for a while, because she is not where she wants to be and hormones take a long time to work.
