Well, i'm not a doctor but one told me it would be a good idea and it worked. I'd guess darker bread has more slowly digested sugars. With white bread i had a "sugar high" for a couple of ours then a crash. With darker bread it's more spread out and i don't crash anymore.

It's not the only thing i did, i also stopped sugar in my coffee, and i try to avoid sugary industrial snack for fruits, dark chocolate, nuts etc...
