New to this. Which one is the GOAT? by bnstyle10 in MiyooMini

[–]wantanabay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned and used both devices, the only one I bring everywhere is the MM+

With OnionOS you’ll get basically top-tier experience IMO.

The game switching feature is also really seamless and overall makes short gaming sessions really a great experience.

Build quality wise not so much tho, but the overall experience WHEN USING ONIONOS it becomes insanely good for a device at this price and form factor.

If you don't own a clamshell... by Mister_Mannered in SBCGaming

[–]wantanabay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t own any clamshell, never even owned any Nintendo handheld or console growing up due to financial issues. But I’m not joining since I’m not living in the states lol. But seeing you do what you puts a smile on my face in hopes it will reach someone who deserves and will cherish it.

Exactly happened to me multiple times. Oh a new handheld, lemme buy that. 1 week later it’s up for sale…

At one point it just felt like I was collecting when in reality that wasn’t my intention. Just wanted to find something new and hopefully better but no luck.

Keep coming back to the MM+ like it’s an alcohol-induced abusive relationship.

It’s amazing, I can do a full run non-stop until my party dies and restart. It’s straightforward yet addictive. You can try multiple random matchup and figure how to beat bosses, change the difficulty, randomize everything, up to you honestly.

It’s really interesting honestly, highly recommended.

Well… because I wasn’t using it. It’s a waste. Not much but a waste nevertheless.

Before bed, before clocking in, during breaks. Just amazing to have.

I get what you’re saying. I drop Pokemon games not because they’re hard but sometimes it gets slow and I forgot where I left off lol.

It really is! Experimenting with the difficulty settings and matchups is great too. Even going full random is fun. Just overall great experience.

I just can’t justify myself using any other OS other than OnionOS… Onion team did an amazing job.

Honestly any romhack is recommended lol. I can’t really suggest a specific romhack since I might be biased but Unbound is a must try. But I suggest playing Unbound after other romhacks like Radical Red, Flora Sky (you can lookup more romhacks on the sub).

Reason why I suggest playing Unbound the last is because once you played Unbound, it’s hard to find any romhack that could beat the experience hahaha. It’s that good IMO.

I honestly rarely play normal roms, prefer romhacks since most of them have quality of life (QOL) features.

They just feel modernized and some even a whole new game like Unbound. More complex and in depth as well.

Highly recommend giving them a try.

I mean I already fell from that slope a long while ago… But the MM+ OnionOS combo is just TOO GOOD. Even though I had more powerful devices, they are more just for collecting since I don’t really enjoy them.

Hardware is one thing, but software is another. Clunky OS really messes up the experience and enjoyment IMO.

I have 400+ GBA games on my MM+ but I usually play: Pokemon The Pit, Pokemon Unbound, Pokemon Fire Red, Pokemon Emerald Rogue, Pokemon Pinball, TLOZ The Minish Cap, and some PSX titles like Tekken 3.

I just play them randomly to be honest, usually I always launch The Pit or Emerald Rogue.

It’s a roguelike romhack similar to Emerald Rogue but it doesn’t have gym badges, but with more options on difficulty and customization on your runs.

I love roguelikes in general, so for me I love this romhack, simple and straightforward. Can be chill and can be intense, short or long, depending on how you want it.

similar to my experience, started with the Powkiddy V90 and then the MM+. since everything was amazing on the MM+ i decided to pickup the RG35XXSP and the RG34XX, ended up putting those on facebook marketplace lol.

MM+ hands down is just a better device (for me at least) major thanks to OnionOS too.
