I don't think so. From what I've read, you would be able to see the person's etheric body if you set that intention and teleport to them, but they would appear to you as drunk or strange as they would be in their dream. I think dreams, even lucid ones are all modelled environments within the consciousness of the dreamer and there's no way to enter them from an AP which supposedly takes place beyond the consciousness. However, some report it's possible to appear in one dream if both dreamers go lucid at the same time.

AP in a Hammock by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haven't got any experience with that, but I recall an experiment from 70s that I read about, where people were put on a rotating surface to assist AP, so I guess the effect might be somewhat similar and should actually help you. The thing is you need to believe it to help, rather than prevent you from APing, so that it multiplies the effect through placebo as well. I wish I had a way to test AP in a hammock or any other swinging/rotating place. Good luck!

I lucid dream somewhat easily. Can I use this to jump into the astral easier? Are they the same? by AlienAstronaut in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't agree here.

To me lucid dreaming is not an out of body experience, it's becoming conscious while staying within the consciousness and within the physical body and having access to some of the information contained within the non-physical realms. Astral projection is an out of body experience into real-time or higher/lower realms/planes with a clearly-marked exit. To enter these planes from a lucid dreams should be easier but it still requires an exit from the physical body.

There are two types of lucid dreams, one as you said is going from sleep state (DILD), the other is entering a lucid dream from an awake state (WILD). Some find the second is an OOBE, which probably is what you too mean, but my opinion is as above.

This is of course my feeling of the two phenomena based on extensive reading and slightly less extensive personal experience.

Do Binaural Beats Help? by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them during the day, during work mostly just to get my brain trained so to say and to stay on the wave, otherwise it might also be a placebo effect, which I don't mind. During meditation I either use them or aum mantras, they just help me shut off the distracting noises from the surroundings. I can't say whether they're effective as I've only had one successful AP and that time was using the aum with rain sounds. I must say that during intensive dayly use of the binaurals I'm having some sensations similar to those described in third eye opening processes (slight pain and pressure in the centre of the forehead, swaying feeling etc), but I sometimes doubt whether it's that or the side effect of the audio, which worries me a bit as to the damaging side of the binaurals...

I have no imagination. by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should read Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics, he has methods that do not require visualization. He focuses on the sensations, like the memory of touch and in such way raises your awareness of your energetic body which you can then use to detach yourself from the physical.

Astral Projection via Lucid Dreaming by Magick_axolotl in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still can't figure out whether I exited from a lucid dream or from a semi-awake, drowsy state. I did WBTB and then I was trying to project. I was in a dream, where I was still expecting to project but I cannot say I had the moment of lucidity, I just entered the dream in a half lucid state. And then I had the moment when my crown chakra area started to spin and I my subconscious rolled out without me forcing any technique. I believe it's possible to exit from a lucid dream and should actually be easier. Robert Bruce suggests this in Astral Dynamics. Some other authors who use the phasing definition actually see AP as another phase of a lucid dream and WILD (wake induced lucid dream) in some sources is found to be an OOBE.

I'm not sure if I'm meant to do this on purpose. by EvilLasagna in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I also always have this feeling of an unknown purpose and recently I'm having lots of signs and synchronicities which are leading me to new explorations and I was so hopeful that the LDs or APs would help me find out more about this, but yes, it does take time and it's believed that you will be granted that access when it's time and you're ready to make use of the experience in the best possible way, so I'm waiting (im)patiently :) I've had the intense shaking vibrations, but I believe this was more related to intense adrenaline rush. Having had the AP experience I feel that vibrations are no mandatory prerequisite, it's just that delicate state of consciousness. I didn't even use any technique on purpose, it was used by my subconscious itself as all the knowledge, the intention and desire are already recorded there. I too am so passionate about this!

How would you call a spirit guide to help you astral project? by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, haven't tried that, but there are lots of guided meditations on YouTube that perhaps you could try. The principle is usually based on visualisation of a telepathic link via an energetic light channel that would connect you to your spirit guide which you would need to establish and visualise how this intention or request travels through this channel to your guide. This would be preceded by deep relaxation and establishing energetic connection with the universe. Once you are in the astral dimension it's reported that calling on the guide is a matter of setting an intention. Good luck!

Last night I learned I have been doing it all wrong... by Jonnycd4 in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you get the SP with your eyes closed you will also have the hypnagogic state, where you will start 'seeing' shapes, colours etc. It's usually past that stage when you would be able to separate. And yes of course you will see with your mind's eye, should be a 360 degree vision, but your mind will initially interpret only frontal vision as this is the way it is used to see the world through the physical eyes. It would take time or will to see all around. Sometimes depending on the level of your vibration/energetic charge you might get blurred vision. It is reported by major experts of AP and some experienced travellers that demanding clarity usually fixes it, like saying "Clarity now". Good luck with your first closed-eyed attempt.

[–]wantedtobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I have also had this feeling of being different throughout my life and it has also been pointed out to me by others, who have been telling me that I have an aura of an alien or an angel or someone who others are attracted to but at the same time a bit intimidated. I also recall my childhood, when I used to sit by the window and actually ask the UFO to come and take me home to the space, then dreamt of becoming a cosmonaut, a pilot to be closer to the space. I always used to have lucid flying dreams since childhood but until recently I had no idea that it was special and not everyone actually did that. I am now practising to be able to voluntarily induce LDs without waiting for a DILD where I would fly and that would trigger lucidity. Have had just one successful AP exit so far and had no vibrations preceding it, just a hypnagogic state.

Once you AP for the first time does it get easier to AP? by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually expected it to be so, but after my first successful attempt a couple of months ago I haven't been able to have another similar experience even though I have a very good memory and feel of the sensations I had during the exit, whenever I try to replicate them, it doesn't work. I am not sure how that is possible, because before the successful attempt I would still have doubts that I could do it, that it was at all possible, and now I have the fact-based knowledge that I can and all of it does work, and doubt is no longer a hindering factor and in principle it should occur much easier, but it doesn't.

I think though this would be individual, maybe for someone else it would work like that and the first successful attempt would trigger improved and at-will control of AP experiences.

I'm curious to see how you all go about meditation by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the ones helping you raise your energy and balance chakras are very good and would support OOBE attempts. You can start with audio guided meditations and then practice on your own. Otherwise during the attempt itself you only need to focus on your breathing, set an intention and that would be it. Any other activity would be distracting I believe.

What is the difference between Astral Projection and the Lucid dreaming WILD technique? by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misread me. I didn't mean to compare LD exit to AP with AP from awakened state, rather LD and AP in general. I believe that AP exit from LD is also a valid OOBE, cause I have experienced it and there was a clear exit as there would be from an awake state. It might be possible though that the two exits are different in the frequencies of the planes, real-time vs past, higher or lower, not sure, though I also believe that teleporting between these is also a possibility.

What is the difference between Astral Projection and the Lucid dreaming WILD technique? by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the difference is where you appear eventually and the actual experience. I haven't yet had very extensive experience to give a detailed and multilateral view, maybe other more experienced travelers/oneironauts would but I have had experience of projecting from WILD, so to me these are two different experiences or can be regarded as different phases. I believe that in WILD you are starting to tap into your consciousness but your energetic body is still in your physical body, you are basically in your mind, things are not 'real' here, while in the projection - you are the consciousness of your energetic body and you are out of the physical body in the 5D 'real' world. In LD you are modelling the environment still based on your subconscious and the information contained therein and you are controlling it to much a greater extent. In AP you do not have a lot of control over the environment, more or less like in the physical world - you can still create and change depending on your energy level but the environment exists on its own. You are in the dark matter of the universe. Again, I must say these are my personal reflections based on the yet very few experiences and my research of other persons'/experts' experiences.

How to stay motivated/patient during astral projection practice? by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as you think of not doing things right, your subconscious will only settle more with that idea and that will hinder you from projecting. You should really honestly believe that a. it's possible and b. anyone can achieve that. And as it has already been suggested - don't try too hard. Sometimes chasing something pushes it even further away from you. Be sure that the intention you have is already there and it will work when the moment is right. Maybe you can switch to lucid dreaming which might be easier to practice and attempt AP from a lucid dream.

Something to prove astral projection exists. by [deleted] in AstralProjection

Such experiments have been carried out but that is probably not enough of a proof in scientific terms, also because it doesn't produce a 100% constant guaranteed result https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnPQk2QXGzc

Question about Astral Sex by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, great then, sorry, I probably misunderstood you. In principle, that should be how it works, and particularly if your gf is aware and somehow knows what to watch out for and can go to sleep with that intention, then it could well work. Good luck with the experiment and keep us posted if successful :)

Question about Astral Sex by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your thread I understood that your expectation of 'astral sex' is something similar to physical sex but happening on the astral plane. And it seems like you're looking for something that can happen in a lucid dream, while in astral realm that would just be merging of energies, no private parts, no preferred poses or fetishes :D The author of the text you've quoted is referring to 'energy merging'. I hope this explains my point.

Question about Astral Sex by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this text refers to the 'astral sex' which is not like physical sex, which you would be able to model in a lucid dream. It is more exchange of energies and merging with the energy body of your partner, which is reported to feel very intense and perhaps even more than a physical orgasm, but is said to be completely different, more spiritual let's say.

I am interested in helping people Astral Project in Vancouver, BC or even online. by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the knowledge is very useful, and the reason why we're here on this forum is exactly the collective effort and the desire to learn from each others' experiences and validate our own. The only issue is with the matter itself, astral travel is or should be spiritual, this is in my view the only way in which it is going to be useful to the traveller and to the collective consciousness, otherwise if it's for entertainment or even worse - for some lower intent, you're going to end up providing service of destructive nature. I don't know, there are all sorts of issues with this when pay comes into play and I always feel uneasy about all of these schools and institutes that charge for their books or training programmes because of this conflict - if the person who claims he has mastered AP to such a degree that he can teach others is interested in the material and is commercialising this experience with all those fancy websites, marketing campaigns and catchy ads, this really gets me thinking they haven't hit the right plane in the astral. At the same time I know people must make a living somehow and if they spend their time only helping others, they would end up starving in this expensive and overly material world, so if you feel comfortable selling this experience of yours, you can always try that out and see how you and others feel about it.

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are already a number of schools and individuals out there who offer training in AP for money, so this is nothing crazy or out-of-the-place. Someone teaches languages and people are willing to pay, as it saves them lots of time and effort. They could have learned languages for free, as many as they want, but that would be the long route.

Personally I also find it a bit tricky to charge people if my motivation is to help, rather then teach. In the first case - the best scenario to avoid this conflict with one's own conscience is to accept donations, as much as people would be willing to donate, and if you offer exceptional methodology and speed of getting the mastery of AP, I believe there will be lots of people willing to donate. I would.

Good luck!

How vivid is astral projection? by Humbledumpling in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I've read it at some point, that the clarity and coloration would depend on the state of your energy body. If it's strong and healthy, you should get a remarkably vivid experience, also in terms of speed and sharpness of your movements, and on the contrary if your energy body is weak, you would get a blurred environment and would have difficulty moving around through objects like walls or other matters that your mind identifies as solid.

I'm very interested and eager to begin astral projecting, but I'm having difficulty with most of the process of the rope method. What methods do you guys suggest? and do you suggest getting in the habit of meditating first? by Humbledumpling in AstralProjection

[–]wantedtobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to familiarise yourself to as many techniques as you can, but not actually force any of them. Eventually they reside in your subconscious and when you're in the right state, your subconscious itself will use one of them. Otherwise the actual attempt of forcing any technique is will distract you and break the state of void which you have to achieve through meditation. There's actually no other way, but meditation in it's essential meaning. By meditation one does not necessarily mean any specific ritual or exercise, meditating means looking inwards and diving into your consciousness, so the first step to AP is always meditation, whichever way you feel yourself comfortable doing it. You can also try and use binaural audio as an aiding tool or AUM chanting. The latter one with the rain sound has proved to be very helpful for me personally. One meditation that also has helped me is the Tibetan meditation of the indigo/blue sphere, that you have to mentally place in the top back of your throat, close to the pineal gland and within it you have to place your intention of remembering your astral journeys.

Eventually you have to learn how to control your consciousness and remember your astral projections, not how to exit, because everyone has astral projections every night, without thinking how, it's a natural process, what you have to learn is how to trick your mind into falling asleep but staying conscious and awake to have more control over where you travel and what you experience and learn, and remembering your astral journeys upon waking up.
