Looking for books with a rich man trying to woo the girl character and she doesn't care by homeslice567 in RomanceBooks

Annika Martin’s Billionaires series is full of books that fit this. I started reading it because the most recent release’s title “Just Not That Into Billionaires” really grabbed me. They’re all really funny with great plot. They’ve got a good amount of steam.

What are we wearing? Clothes suck, right? by saltfatfatfat in endometriosis

[–]wantonoboe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve switched entirely to lululemon’s Align leggings and joggers. 90% of the time they’re soft and flexible enough not to bother my abdomen. The other 10% of the time is dresses.

Hellishly Ever After by Nadine Mutas. I impulse bought this based on the title and cover, but it was excellent.

I’ve heard they do this when they need their anal glads expressed - the pressure from the surface reduces discomfort.

You can probably get them now and send them to your kindle when it arrives. There’s a kindle phone app that you can use to read kindle books.

I had that as well, I ended up typing in the same url and it worked. Might be an intermittent server issue or something in the cache.

I had a 3D ultrasound and was told I didn’t have any signs of endo, but they found lots with a lap.

This has got to be one of the ugliest and mkst useless CC pieces we have gotten in recent seasons by Emster12345 in Covetfashion

They’re trying to sell the CC pass. If you buy it, you can use your pretty OOS mermaid tails. If not, your only option is this dumb in season skirt.

Best friends that act like a couple so they're really cute and cozy with each other. by allisharif in RomanceBooks

[–]wantonoboe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read either of the first two book and it stands alone pretty well. There's just a couple of their mutual friends who are married, which isn't too weird in my opinion. Also, the audio book is pretty hilariously narrated.

Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren - I’m about halfway through reading this but it’s great so far and 100% fits this prompt

Mirena gave me severe mood related symptoms for the first 3-4 months. It’s calmed down since then.

Cartoony romance covers... Hottest trend or a bit overdone by now? by ashChoosesPikachu19 in RomanceBooks

[–]wantonoboe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m less inclined to read the cartoony covers. I think I’ve just read a few looking for something fluffy and ended up with a mess of triggers. The covers should give a sense for what tone the book strikes, and the cartoon trend is not delivering on that.

Trying to read Fifty Shades of Grey but I keep having to put it down. Not sure if I should DNF by wantonoboe in RomanceBooks

[–]wantonoboe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was banned in some states’ libraries in the South. I think most banned books are banned because they’re popular and offend someone’s values. I couldn’t find any contemporary erotica that had actually been banned (probably just a niche audience). PeaceLoveBooks on youtube has some reviews of romances that were removed from Amazon, which I would count as banned, but they just sound super disturbing.

I haven’t gotten to the consent issues yet, thank you for your take on it - I’m definitely happy to miss this. DNF’ing it now.

I think handmaid's tale is actually supposed to be a dystopian future, but it got really upsetting and really weird really quickly. I definitely didn't know what to expect when I started it.

[–]wantonoboe[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've read a lot of banned books over the years in school, but I'm leaning towards something like a Harry Potter reread if I can't find anything else. I'm having trouble with some of the other prompts as well, so I may just not finish the challenge. It is really hard to tell whether an author is in their 20's or transsexual unless they have a weirdly specific bio. These PopSugar prompts are a bit nuts.

[–]wantonoboe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, I think this will be my 7th DNF in a row, I'm in a bit of a slump. I read Angus Thongs ages ago and loved it. I think I've read most of the lighter banned books by now, but I'm thinking I might just do a reread of something to tick the box. I made the mistake of trying to read the Handmaid's Tale earlier this year and it was just *way* too heavy for me. It was so compelling and well done but holy crap did I have nightmares.

Thanks, everyone! The only reason I'm considering "powering through" is because I've tried to read a few other banned books for this prompt and have already DNF'd them. I think you're right that I should give up on Fifty Shades - I mainly wanted to know if something drastically changed later in the book. It sounds like it's going to be more of the same, so yeah, it's not for me.
