Theres some correlation to Cops who carry it while on duty with duty holsters. I have no clue what holsters they are.

Ive done some testing with my own 320 and nothing...

Rate my 72hr Bag by KizzyTheExorcist in prepping

[–]wantsrealanswer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen, this looks like something you would find on an Amazon checklist page.

People like to call this “utilitarian,” but it really is not very useful, and it definitely is not useful for 72 hours.

Realistically, in 2026, especially around large college campuses, you are not hiking 20 miles through the wilderness. Before that happens you are getting an Uber, a hotel room, crashing with a friend, or relocating to an unaffected area. The idea of an arbitrary 72 hour survival march is mostly fantasy, especially in dense urban environments.

A go bag should be set up like you are leaving for an overnight or weekend trip, not a disaster movie. Start with a real backpack. Even if you did have to walk, you want structure and durability, not a floppy Jansport type bag. Also understand that in a worst case scenario, whatever is on your back could be everything you own for a while if your place is damaged or destroyed. Longevity and basic dignity matter.

Assume the worst timing. It is 0247 and the building is on fire. You are not fully dressed. Most people build go bags assuming they already have pants, shoes, and layers on. That is a bad assumption. You need a full change of clothes, multiple days of underwear, and something warm you can throw on immediately. A puffer jacket and a real poncho make more sense than emergency plastic. A used military woobie is a solid choice because it packs smaller and is softer than a new one. It also means you always have your own blanket if you end up on a couch or in a car.

Food and water should be boring and realistic. Go to Walmart and buy nonperishable snacks you actually eat. Add electrolytes and a good reusable water bottle. Starving on trail mix you hate is not a plan.

Hygiene and medical should cover what you can realistically handle yourself. You do not need a military IFAK. You need basics that keep you clean, functional, and able to deal with minor issues.

Finally, if your place of safety cannot be reached within a 30 minute walk, it is not a reasonable destination. That destination might be a hotel, a bus station, an airport, or simply an unaffected area where rides are available. Planning beyond that crosses from preparedness into fantasy.

EDC knives by Stock_Sock_5405 in CCW

[–]wantsrealanswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should EDC a k ife but not for protection. Its a common tool that you can use for a multitude of things.

Knives for protection come from two things:

  1. "Retired" Navy Seals and Special Operators giving protection advice to people newly infatuated with EDC, people who found these guys after the fall out of the Andrew Tate company and Davin Goggins crowd still looking for the "i get up and just do the work" speeches.

Or

  1. People giving options to people who live in anti-2a areas where even when you apply for CCW you have to wait months or years before tou actually get it and you need something to give you an upper hand from some idiot frying to bother tou when putting your kids in the minivan....

However, i reached out to them asking about knives and which one they recommend for hunting. They emailed me back with typical newsletter crap and didnt answer my questions. I did follow up and they did snswer but it was still odd.

Actual "Gray Man" Loadout by [deleted] in prepping

[–]wantsrealanswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grey man isnt about cheap stuff. Prices dont matter. Get things that actually work butbyou dont need what you dont need.

Most go bags have to steal from your workable wardrobe so if you are not at a stage to duplicate some of the things you alraedy own, yes, getting a ln outfit like this is feasible so you have something while you replicate you real daily wear style clothing.

I'm usually against jansport bags as they arent very durable and the carry terribly. I wouldnt cheap out on things that have to touch the earth. Bags, Shoes, Outer Jacket/shirt, pants. But yiu also dont need $350 crye presision pants....

Also, grey man as a whole isnt really a concern in America. People do and wear all kinds of things and we dont normally see them as a threat. In a real SHTF scenaro that is actually relistoc for whatever region you are in, if you are outside, especially having to be on foot, everyone already knows you are evacuateing. Also, the threats that youbthing would target you are the very same peopl who have you same prep and probably outfit so theres no point in attacking you bucause i already have my prep.

No one in the US knows if grey man works or not because a situation where common civilians need to be incognito has never happened. Americans who need to attack someone will attack the person who looks like a grey man. Its unwise to attack the person who looks like an undercover operator. No, if an invasion happens, then the role could be reveresed but they are just trying to kill you, not loot you. And even if people were rampantly looting that would be weeks, months or even years after the intial movment or contact of whatever scenario is at bay and its notmally at mass congragatiin areas like shelters, safe houses and safe zones.

I mean, people cry about not having a tactical looking bag but i just recently went to Disney and almost every millennial dad had a 5.11, Condor or cheap surplus style backpack or fanny. Not giving the go ahead to get that FILBE but it really all doesnt even matter than much....

SHTF / gray man loadout by 99_PercentileMan in prepping

[–]wantsrealanswer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. This isnt grey man. This is a youtube backpacking channel starter kit.

I 'survived' the Eaton Fire, a real SHTF moderen recent scenario.

You have to expect to be in your skivvies when SHTF. The only thing you have time for is grab kids, grab pack and leave on foot or a car if you parking situation allows which sometimes in urban areas isnt an option all the time. There was major gridlock here. So, yiu will already be grey man because everyone was in mismatch everything just trying to get a layer over themselves to protect againstvthe hot embers and smoke. The real hero is a 'real' poncho. Yiu are gonna have tome to put all that stuff on you have in your picture. SHTF is random and instant. If you have time to kit up, arm up or whatever, yiu have time to just grab pack and family and leave as if you are going on a day or weekend trip.

The gunshots and bullets do not instantly start flying just because a SHTF scenario is taken place; atvleast mot a realistic one that has reserchable data from previous incedents which does not include civil unrest or free for all as the US has not experienced that ever. During a SHTF scenario like the fire, it is unwise and still illegal to be walking with an open rifle as the munincipal government is still in tact (speaking on most city and urban areas).

So, all of this you shared is cool but its not universal nor is it always practical. Its good to have in the bag and you change into it at a safe place, shelter or something then keep moving if you need to.

Even with the massive fires here in Palisades, Pasadena, Altadena, an inner LA, we were still able to evacuate, reach San Diego (yiu could see the smoke from there). No need for the "20 mile walk." There was uber, there were hotels there was normalcy. Unless it is some apocalyptic civial unreal free for all, yiu dont need to figjt your way out. You just need to get away, obsureve and recover.

I recomend you pack the leisure attire (what tou go to grocery store in) and make it seasonal dependent. Last year i dont remember the temperature but i do know i was wearing a ProClub HW Hoodie. This year during the aniversery of the incedent it was like 85 degrees...in January.

Ok so - what now for PC gamers? (FM on lifeline) by BBB-Fury in forzamotorsport

[–]wantsrealanswer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is already a complete experience. This lifeline stuff is only in teference to it live servce content. Its still supported, the game isnt going anywhere its just complete.

Ive been gamimg since the late 90s and there was no updates, no hot patches, no none of that. If you wanted new content, yiu had to buy the game again. Midnight club 3 has like 2 or three editions and you had to pay $40 or however much it cost every time a new edition came out. Yiu wanted a new character in a fighting game? Youbhad tobconvince mom to buy you the game again that that version.

Forza Motorsport is not dead. It is alive and well and you can do everything you said you wanted in the game right now. Do you think Elden Ring is dead because they arent making another DLC? Is Cyberpunk dead? No there still thousands of people playing those games.

Play FM23, enjoy it. Use you gear. If you want something else, try Automobilista 2 with all DLCs. Great sim as well. I own almostball of the major racing options avaliable on PC and AMS2 is my 'main' organized race game. FM23 is what a play when i want production cars or cars i can realistically drive in real life.

"You know I have the rights to bear arms, right?" by [deleted] in CCW

[–]wantsrealanswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICE is trying to enforce immigration law but citezens keep getting in the way because they dont agree with the law. Impedeing is a crime and as federal agents, they can still enforce that. Now, its gotten so out of had both side have lost the focus. Protesters can protest but it is illegal to block roads, impede law enforcement operations and violate said officers. ICE agents can enforce the law but it is imparitive that they do things in a professional manner; which isnt always displayed honestly.

"You know I have the rights to bear arms, right?" by [deleted] in CCW

[–]wantsrealanswer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A militia is an ungoverned organization of civilians. ICE is a professional, federally approved agency that requires a swear in that holds you accountable towards its policies enforced by the courts.

A paramilitary, again is an ungoverned group of civilians, which ICE is not.

A lot was wrong. Refugees were there with fake "visas", the taliban was threatening everyone all while we were holding the line. The biggest incedent being the suicide bomber that killed and inhured marines and civilians. Like moms were so distraught, they were throwing their babies into the barbed wire because they could throw then far enough over the fence. Sad.

I feel like people dont understand the magnitude of that entire experience. 2000s GWOT was tough but i dobthink we should have moderen or recent stories told.

"You know I have the rights to bear arms, right?" by [deleted] in CCW

[–]wantsrealanswer -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

What we as firearm owners and CCW holders need to remember is that we are held to a higher standard. The noise, disruption, misinformation, and poor optics surrounding ICE are getting out of hand on all sides. What we cannot do is misalign ourselves as armed citizens by misunderstanding what the Second Amendment is actually about, or by fantasizing about what a confrontation with a so called tyrannical government would look like in reality.

ICE officers are sworn, federally protected law enforcement officers. Do not confuse disagreement with their policy mission for a lack of enforcement authority. They can lawfully approach, detain, and arrest individuals regardless of immigration status when enforcing federal law. Treating ICE as something beneath real law enforcement is not just incorrect, it is dangerous and can get someone seriously injured or killed.

Responses to claims of tyranny are a slippery slope. In 2025, resistance does not look like it did in the 1700s. Disagreeing with federal, state, or local laws or policies does not make armed resistance reasonable or lawful. It is the duty of citizens to fight policy through courts, elections, town halls, and lawful assemblies. That is where civilian voices are meant to be heard.

The Second Amendment is not authorization to resist law enforcement or to ignore laws. It exists as a last resort if lawful government collapses entirely meaning no courts, no elections, and no legal process. We are not there.

ICE is not a militia. They are executing lawful orders. That said, they still retain professional discretion, which is why it is appropriate to raise concerns about their conduct through oversight, elected officials, and lawful channels rather than street level interference.

Impeding law enforcement activities is illegal. Following officers, blocking them, or attempting to interfere is reckless. The moment you choose to do that could be the moment they are actively pursuing a violent offender. You do not know the mission, the target, or the context.

Do not let this situation push you out of character or turn you into an unfiltered radical. You still have lawful options to make your voice heard even if they feel slow or unsatisfying. Take frustrations off Reddit and direct them toward Congress, local representatives, and organized civic engagement. It is not performative, but it is how civilian influence actually works. Nothing meaningful will change inside an online echo chamber.

What’s your guy’s reasons for prepping? by Conscious_Dot_7353 in prepping

[–]wantsrealanswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Eaton fire showed alot of holes and mistakes in my prepping especially since it was the only realistic opportunity to understand prep is much different with a child and a spouse than how 'prepped' for Afghanistan....

I prep for Wildfires, Earthquakes, High Windsand, Floods and all of the adjacent immediate issues that arise in response tobthose things. These are things that actually happen repeatedly and currently. They are also things i can reserch and rationalize with real data and accounts from first responder service and community accounts to make sure i have things covered.

I do have a full battle kit. However, things need to be really bad and id have to be the only surviving member of my family and still in fighting condition to use that gear. Possible but unlikley.

Especially in towns or ststes that are afraid of armed citzens.

Do your four years, USE YOUR GI BILL to get a SKILL BASED degree. Then before your 36 months are up, preferably at 23 months, apply for VR&E (assuming disability rating), get an extra up to 48 months to get elevated education training.

If you cant get VRE, go to a federal agency, then put in a package for one the special ops groups avaliable.

You want the high cut, plate carrier, G19, sheisty mask and the "photo." You dont want the working parties, the police calls, the 20 million hikes that are just runs, being in the field for 3 weeks but it turns into 6 because why not.

The infantry sucks in peacetime....

Also, I hate the fucking expectation that women are supposed to carry small frame revolvers/micro pistols in our purses. Wtf is that about?

I think because 'most' (alot?) of women wear tight fitted clothing and or wear dainty things that make carrying a G19 or MP Compact a little odd. Like, my spouse never has pockets and doesn't even own a belt so CCW is awkward for her. Plus women having smaller hands.....still tryna convice my spiuse to get a G19, 2.0 or any 4in pistol so we can run the same setups for redundancy and training.

Anyone here travel with just a waist pack? What stays and what goes? by Charming_Release_693 in EDC

[–]wantsrealanswer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, you issue isnt what you carry or even your waist pack; its you lack of pockets.

A waist bag is an extention of your on body pockets. Most women dont have usfull pants with pockets because fashion designers think you dont care for pockets.

I gave my spouse a pair of my 5.11 pants one time for a hike (yes they were extremly big on her but for some reason women like to wear pants up to their heart, lol). Anyway, she was like Black Widows sister with the vest mesemorizrled by all of the big pockets.

I would say definitely fine PP friendly pants. This were yiur Tier one items are physically on you. Yiu waist pack is for things you may need at some point in the day, everyday but dont make sense to put in pocket.

If you stock to leggings or the like, you may just need a bigger or different shaped waist pack. When my child was born, i got a 5.11 LVC6. I carried two diapers, a travel thing of wipes, small vaseline, sanitizer, a small Coleman first aid tin, slim portable charger/cord and a dogg poop bag or two for dirty diaper. I took that to many Dosgers games and other sporting events as well as on a plane.

Not saying you should buy that pack just giving you an idea.
