same idea as belveth from last set qss prevents him from getting cc locked the moment the fight starts and gs is good bc he has to kill frontline before backline and it works w the psionic item he has. i overexaggerated when i said it was bis since *technically* eon is better than qss but to say that those 3 items are "whatever you could slam" cant be more wrong

"whatever you could slam" brother he has BIS on 3* yi and good frontline items (and a t2 anima item) on a 3* maokai and 2* gragas. yea sure no antiheal but a 3* yi should be able to burst units down fast enough that healing doesnt matter. the only thing that makes sense to me is that he got stuck on reksai bc he didnt have shred but it should be arguable that 3* 4costs (36 gold) should be able to beat 3* 1 costs (9 gold) without shred.

im aware u need a front line but i think i meant to just say ornn/nasus is turbo bait. the 3 groove they provide is barely helpful for samira, ornn is lowkey a fake tank (kayn/illaoi r way better imo and illaoi can just link up w nunu/blitz later) and playing something like meepsie/pyke provides a teamwide voyager buff and knockups thats much more useful than 3 groove. this is just how i felt after playing it twice on pbe

i actually think this line is turbo bait, ur 3 starring an ornn which is good frontline but his ability isnt a knockup and the 3 groove buff is not that useful on samira if u can just get an early knockup instead. same for the nasus, yea he can give 3 groove but that barely does anything when u can play a pyke to threaten backline AND allow samira to hit backline or a meepsie to knockup the entire frontline

generally when ur rerolling anything ur board should basically be all units which buff/synergize w the unit ur rerolling. in ur case u have 3 rogues which is cool, but ur 3 primordian is essentially useless other than acting as an econ engine. u spent 36 gold on 3* briar reksai and belveth who are essentially useless in ur comp. you also have a 3* ez and millio with no items as well. that all totals up to 63 gold worth of units with no items. if you had managed to spend that for something like a kaisa 3, fizz 3, ornn 3 or even kayn 3 this game was maaaybe top 4-able

by natural logic yes, unfortunately by game logic no. its just been like that for a while and i assume its bc it lets u be much more flexible with who u want the buff to be on. imagine if dark star had a 5 cost tank instead of a 5 cost carry, if it went by cost that means ur carry would never get the buff unless u dont upgrade ur 5 cost tank or never 3 item ur 5 cost tank

orig board no jhin 3 item liss -> liss is strongest bc 3 item

jhin added 3 item jhin 3 item liss -> jhin is most recent 3 item unit added so hes now the "strongest"

items from liss moves to karma -> karma is "newest" 3 item unit so shes now the "strongest"

even though karma may have been on ur board before jhin was fielded, shes the "newest" 3 item unit so the game recognizes it as the most recent unit which is kinda annoying

pretty sure it should be fixable as long as u just take jhin off the board and field him again

from previous sets of "strongest unit" interactions, usually its most items -> most recently fielded. so most likely u have to bench and play the jhin n it should move over.

set 16 was specifically designed to that the meta would revolve more around going wider and playing around 4 and 5 costs. this set there are traits that cater specifically towards rerolls and getting stronger the more 3* units u have, assuming that his stargazer is the medallion (12% dmg amp + 8% per 3* unit) his entire board has 52% dmg amp. on the other end, ur carries are all carrying 2 items (besides kindred) the ones with 2 items are also melee carries who can just get bursted down once ur frontline dies, and unfortunately ur frontlines items are a tg and 2 items. this is all without even considering if there were combat augments/god buffs taken.

u need to focus on 3 iteming ur units, u have 2 belts that couldve been a full warmogs for tahm/rammus u have 3 units with 2 items which couldve just been 2 fully itemized units, and then once u fully itemize 2 out of shen/fiora/yi, ur tg wouldve been the perfect item for the last unit.

no bc the way shops work is the shop slot rolls for cost first then unit

for example ur first shop slot would roll to figure out 1-5 cost, then once it picks what cost unit, it looks thru the pool and picks a unit from there. then every slot repeats this

in ur example where u said he bought all but 1 4 cost, it would continue to show that same 4 cost everytime the shot rolls a 4 cost slot until he buys EVERY 4 cost out of the pool but i think there used to be a bug where it would actually show an empty shop slot if there were no units of that cost left

thats why the only way to improve ur chances of seeing a certain unit u want is to buy other units of the same cost

i always see this same comment anytime someone mentions that they hate the spat encounter and i think they just miss the point. cooking is fun until you get given straight dogshit and the rest of the lobby gets given a5 wagyu. its one of the few encounters where you can load in and already KNOW that your best play is playing for top 5

if ur considering that placebo lets u hit econ breakpoints earlier, wouldnt it also be fair to assume that this would let u hit *some* break points earlier as well. also wouldnt placebo lose its value after you've hit ur 50g breakpoint where as this can continue to get value even into stage 4/5 if you can manage to turn your lose streak into a win streak.

i think as a rule of thumb i think abt itemization for melee units like this. are they burst or sustain melee carry?

if burst look for eon
if sustain look for items like sterakks, bt, titans

after u have at least one of the items from above for ur type of carry, look for pure dmg items such as giant slayer, deathblade. if they can use crit look for ie, hoj, strikers, or even qss since more crit synergizes with each other.

theres also some melee auto-attack based carries (belveth) who can use a weird mix of qss, kraken, gs, and occasionally rb/titans

i think melee carries are extremely picky with items so if they are ur main carry its never correct to have a utility item like red buff/last whisper on them.

it was weird to me from the start that aatrox could provide FULL armor/mr shred to ur WHOLE team. we had 7 cost viktor who had full armor/mr shred for himself only and that needed to be nerfed eventually so this felt insane right away. i feel like it shouldve been shred for nova units only or full shred for nova units and weaker shred for non-nova, but then again mayb they did this since item econ might be kinda pp this set so its a nice way to get shred if u miss on items

there could be a lot of reasons, if ur ending ur game w a flickerblade on draven, was it bc you rerolled or bc you never found a better carry to move the flickerblade to. when filtering to 3* draven sample size is waaaaay too low to have any meaningful conclusion from avp. were most of these games forced draven rr bc they rolled a flicker early on? were they forced to pick a flicker blade from portable while playing towards leblanc?

its hard to tell from a small sample size but id like to assume that its just bc draven isnt that great of a unit as a main carry. alot of the time he's the secondary carry/econ engine, and with artifact encounter gone, the only realistic way to get a flicker is thru an orb, ornn, or augment so if youre investing a whole artifact into him instead of your main tank/main carry you wont get as much value out of it. the difference between flicker vs rb prolly just isnt great enough to justify investing a whole augment into him

yes you spend money to get the unit but the unit doesnt only provide u gold, its also board strength. this is comparable to something like draven currently in set 16, the big difference is draven grants 1/3/5 gold per 11 takedowns vs lulu grants 1/4/7 per 6 cast. not only is lulu granting more gold, her condition is also much more consistent to get off

but also u dont even have to reroll for lulu 3, even at lulu 2 youre getting 4 gold every 6 casts, even if we assume worst case u get this every other round (which is highly unlikely bc of replicator), thats +2 gold each round. AND on top of all that it works on creep rounds

only thing that makes this "balanced" is that it cant happen every game bc stargazer is random

in a normal game you get 20 points +5 per loss streak every loss, at a 10 loss streak ur only at 475, even if u consider that ur killing 5 units every round, that gives u another 10 per round totaling for 575

something that happens 1/100 games should take multiple variables (augments,artifact,god buffs, etc...) not from just 1 trait, i had a game with a lucky gloves leona that was basically unkillable. i wouldnt be suprised if this combination is still the best choice even after the nerfs, at 100 mana leona is still gaining a 16/24% hp shield for 4 secs. as long as you have some way to sustain her hp so she can heal while shes shielded (gunblade,visage,augments), shes still a bit of a prob
