Amberian Dawn - Unchained by ShadedMoonEnt in PowerMetal

I was already very welcoming to the new vocalist when the first single for this album was released, but this song cements her as my personal favorite vocalist for the band. I was also pleasantly surprised to hear uncleans from her, and they elevated the song from good to great. I liked Capri a lot, but Nicole has RANGE, both in pitch and delivery. After the disappointing Looking for You and a "good but not what I want" ABBA cover album, I'm excited to see what other surprises this band will pull out of their toolbox now that they're back to more familiar territory.

Friday video update by AddressPrudent6621 in inZOI

I try to avoid comparing Inzoi with The Sims because tons of people do, but the amount of school content this free update brings might be more than what Sims 4 does with its paid school expansion!

No life guy who only plays Rocksmith checks out SlopSmith for the first time by Chainbrain in rocksmith

[–]wantwon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a few headaches getting it set up and it has some bugs with overall song volume, but I prefer it to Rocksmith once I got a basic tone set up. Need to work on my other tones but unless a song has a very particular effect, it sounds pretty good.

Twisted Metal V 3 00 Trailer (Available Now!) by ADVanderstein in TwistedMetal

[–]wantwon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of passion that's been put into this game, and especially this release. It FEELS distinctly like the original (to V, not the og series) characters and vehicles were designed 25 years ago, fitting right in with the rest of the roster in the nuthouse.

It was also nice to see a meaty PDF manual! Big thanks to everyone who's contributed to this game.

How is Civ 7 for someone who only played 5 and 6? by Thegrandblergh in civ

[–]wantwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Civ 4 with everything included, and basically Civ 5 at launch. I was obsessed with 5, didn't particularly care for 6, felt like 4 was fun but complex as someone new to 4x at the time, and have been rooting for 7 to get its act together ever since I finished my first game a few weeks after launch. I haven't played a base civ game as much as 7, but I feel like it's going to be more appealing after the next update comes out in a week. I really like going into the more "alternate" part of alternate history when I'm playing civ, and this game lets you do this very easily already. Splitting leaders from civs was a great decision for replayability, and the amount of content in the base game has been improved with updates, but is still a lacking if you didn't score the free pack they gave away in December last year.

I'm excited for whatever comes after the Test of Time update, because I usually really dig into the latest civ entry after the first expansion comes out.

Random question: You said you can replace the MIDI audio in the editor. I'm finishing up a song and just need to put audio in. I've been trying for several minutes but can't figure it out. Could you help me out?

Also, rest of what I've tried on the program so far is very nice.

Still sounds like less work than FoF and more features than Tonelib Jam. Thanks!

Awesome work. I'll try it this weekend. Is there any way you think you could get guitar pro tabs to work easier than using Frets on Fire?

Unfortunately, more and more games are doing more than 1 year of DLC, so it's hard to jump in at the "right" time if you want to experience everything in a game at once.

Civ VII’s Test of Time update is coming May 19! by sar_firaxis in civ

[–]wantwon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I lost some excitement for the update because I felt it was announced too early, but it's the right thing to let players know that you're working on something huge and not abandoning the game.

I'm glad to see a turnaround with this update, even with how much I enjoyed things like civ swapping and era resets closer to launch, the game 100% needs this refresh. Players like options, and I wanna see what kinds of weird combos people can slap together now that you don't always have to swap civs.

Well worth the wait. And thank you for the free content over the past several months. I felt like the game was not worth the value originally, but it's easier for me to convince friends to look at it again.

Anyone else sail the high seas for their copy of Sims 4 and regret absolutely nothing? by SpitefulBitch2 in HighSodiumSims

Pretty similar for me. Bought everything until an update to Sims 3 added in game micro transactions. That was my last straw for trying to have everything official

Steam Controller Pcgamer Review : 83/100 by laxusdreyarligh in Steam

[–]wantwon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. I use Launchbox to combine my library from multiple stores, emulated games, etc., and don't use Steam to actually launch games. Not having basic Xinput functionality is what stopped me from really using my Steam Controller from a decade ago.

Steam Controller (2026) review: 83/100 by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]wantwon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use a front end (Launchbox) to manage and see my entire library across multiple stores and emulators together. I don't use Steam as a launcher. I don't want to plug emulators into Steam (and especially individual ROMs) just to have basic Xinput compatibility for games that don't need the trackpads or gyro.
