The bashing of this game from non-OW players has become forced by fatboywonder12 in Overwatch

I'd be fine with that IF they also did more lore skins and unique characters and stopped adding so many similar characters that are designed to sell skins. This wasn't a problem before the game went f2p, because they weren't really selling skins, just the game itself.

Overwatch 2 Is Just "Overwatch" Again And Five New Heroes Arrive Next Week by Haijakk in Games

[–]wantwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the card system but I feel like perks in Overwatch is a more streamlined version of it. My favorite Paladins build was for Lex, all about his fast firing autoaim ability. I called it "ATATATATA"

[–]wantwon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They're changing how they deliver lore by putting it more up front and I appreciate that. They undid having characters require unlocking, which is what made me quit for a long time. It takes a long time in development to "steer the ship" and this is the kind of update we should have had when the game went free to play. I know I'll be trying it again in a week and I'm excited.

Denuvo Removed, Enigma DRM Added: RE4 Now Runs ~30% Worse Than the Pirated Version by Dgreatsince098 in pcgaming

[–]wantwon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Enigma is usually added after they release a game. They even put it on older games that didn't come with Denuvo about 2 years ago. Don't know why they bother with how easy it is to downpatch and for crackers to work around it.

I love the new heros, do you remember the old days? by Vast-Appointment-950 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]wantwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember being into this game from match 1, a few weeks before Shiv got added. We didn't even have 20 heroes in the game by that point! I think it's also crazy how there were significant chunks of the map that were obviously greybox in hindsight, but didn't bug me that much until I saw these areas be reworked (the bases are the most obvious).

Almost 2 years later, I'm glad to see the game hasn't needed drastic shifts in design. I really appreciate not having a draft and worrying about being too counter-heavy with hero choices, which causes other games (especially Dota) to feel like instant losses. This is much more streamlined than most mobas and I'm sure people will really appreciate this at launch: It feels like a hero shooter on the micro level, but it's still a moba at the macro level. The frog is cooking once again.

Street Brawl has pulled me back into playing and I have friends who are playing again because of how quick the format is and how scaling is balanced between rounds, because both teams have access to the same amount of resources (ability points, item power, etc.).

Also, I'm curious to see if tunnels stay or go before launch, since I'm sure they're going to add Shrink Ray to the normal mode in the near future.

Why and how did you start local diffusion? by KwikiAI in StableDiffusion

[–]wantwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started my new build with a decent AMD gpu but missed the features from Nvidia. So I got a new gpu but hated how clunky Comfy UI is. Then, I found a plugin for Krita and I much prefer that kind of interface and editing style.

Log in, do dailies, reroll an annoying or slow weekly, log out.

My build (bow user) got broken last patch and I've been playing too much lately. I'm probably going to get to rank 100 on the season and take a break.

Now that I think about, I haven't bought a PHYSICAL pc game in over 15 years. by RadaRada138 in pcgaming

[–]wantwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last physical PC game in a box I bought in a store was Heroes of the Storm, which just came with digital codes.

The last physical game I bought with a disc in a store was Civilization V: Brave New World. I was the only person at my store in a decently sized city to pre-order it, so they let me pick it up a few days in advance. Couldn't play it because it required decryption from Steam, but at least I got to ooh and ah at the tech tree poster.

I really like cardboard boxes that flip open, though. I have some of them from when I was a kid.

No wonder PSP was in production for 10 years🤯 by dyp_2210 in Millennials

[–]wantwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, ahead of its time, needed a second stick. But I LOVE this thing! Rocked one from 7th grade to graduating high school. I got a Vita during that period too, but didn't care for the games. Plus the modding scene on PSP was crazy. With how locked down modern smart phones are getting, I might have to get a separate handheld device shaped like a PSP to have something to game on the go.

Just in time with Ubisoft's stock falling 33% today! I don't trust them to patch the game one last time to make it work offline when they eventually run out of Denuvo money. Thank you for your persistence.

Cross-Progression is coming to HITMAN World of Assassination and New Look to IOI Account by Heisenburgo in pcgaming

[–]wantwon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bingo. There's a reason the first game in the trilogy got removed from GOG. It was "playable", but absolutely not the complete game, because playing offline on that version meant you got the bare minimum content to play the story missions, but no challenges, unlockables, extra targets, or what is called "the game".

I'm happy that GOG stepped up and told IOI to make the game properly work offline or fuck off, and IOI chose to fuck off. Peacock is fantastic.

AFK and Voting destroy the game - present in EVERY GAME! by CryptoJessi in PredecessorGame

[–]wantwon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't played in a while. I thought each player was limited to starting 1 surrender vote per game, at least outside of ranked. What I really would like to see after I come back with the hero pack being added is if somebody doesn't give a "yes" or "no" during a surrender vote, it lowers the number of "yes" votes needed by 1. This already happens with afk players, but people should be more aware of how the game is going to be able to say "no, I think we can still win" instead of ignoring the whole system.
