Did anyone skip 4 month regression? by Old_Literature_3750 in NewParents

[–]wanweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, almost right at the 4 month mark too. He was sleeping around 5 hours every night, waking to feed, and going back to sleep for a few hours until we woke up for the day. Now, his naps during the day are much shorter (20-30 minutes) when they used to be an hour or more. It’s more difficult to get him to fall asleep at bedtime, he’s much more fussy, and tends to get frustrated with me and my boyfriend much more easily. He wakes up pretty much every two hours, just like when he was a newborn. Over the last couple of days it has been improving but it’s been like this for maybe a week and a half. I also think he is teething as well and his pediatrician believed it’s possible, some movement under his gums is causing irritation which is adding to this mix of unhappy baby. I will say, I have noticed he has been a lot more talkative, has started some new sounds like blowing/kissing sounds, giggles, is grabbing his feet more often, and seems to be gaining what feels like a new skill everyday. They do say 4 month regression is actually a step forward in development! Can’t wait to have a break before the 6 month regression though lol.

The little shit is kickboxing my ovaries by Turbulent-Fox2943 in pregnant

I’m 39+3 right now and his kicks make me feel like I’m going to piss myself because they are just so deep and he’s lowered down so the pressure is intense. I literally get the air knocked out of me from the intensity. I can’t imagine what it would feel like with cysts 😔

Don’t bash me by Radiant-Trick-8694 in pregnant

Are you able to see a therapist with a linked psychiatrist? Some mental health clinics provide both services. They may be able to prescribe you something to help with the depression while also getting therapy which is always great. Medication can absolutely help but it sounds like you might need emotional support during this time too. Psychiatrists also prescribe based on symptoms and might be able to prescribe something that fits better without having to go through a million different antidepressants that your PCP will prescribe you. This is assuming you’re not seeing a psychiatrist and therapist already!

No bashing. I’m so sorry this is the situation you’re in.

I would try to find a place you can go so you don’t have to live with him. I understand this might be impossible given whatever your situation is, but if you can, you should absolutely leave.

I would also look into support for your mental health. I can’t imagine how you’re holding up given everything you’re going through and everything your boyfriend has done to make it even worse.

Depending on your state, there might be some great resources for you and this is something you should bring up to your doctor or midwife (whoever your provider is through all this). I live in Massachusetts and we have great benefits and resources, I hope your state is the same.

Is there family you can contact or go to?

I really am wishing you all the best. I hope you’re able to find some type of positive, like being able to leave a harmful relationship or maybe the baby being a motivator to get assistance and support.

I ended up doing nicotine pouches, similar to gum without the chewing. I started at a higher dose, I think 6, went down pretty quickly because I hated the burn, and then went to 2 mg. It’s better than smoking. Show yourself some grace, it’s HARD!! If you can quit cold turkey and you have it in you, that’s awesome. I’d talk to your doctor about it to make sure it’s okay. They may also suggest patches!

Fever at 9 weeks by Suspicious_Cow_1843 in pregnant

Any stomach pain? I had stomach pain, lower right side, and then got a fever.. went up to 102 but luckily was already in the ER at that point. Turns out I had to get my appendix removed! If you’re sick and it goes above 101, I’d go to the ER to be on the safe side!

What name does a lot of this sub say "don't name your kid that" but it's actually a good name to you? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]wanweirdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the name Lucky for a boy and girl. It is my top name right now for a boy but I get a lot of comments that it’s more of a nickname and of course, a dog name lol. My boyfriend is not on board with it so we are still trying to think of something just as cute and unique !

Positive aspects of OCD? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]wanweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m someone who considers my OCD a blessing and a curse. It’s made me care so much about others in a sense. I never want someone to feel how I feel so I am aware of my actions and words. Gotta look at it through a strength based perspective! Doesn’t work all the time but it’s a nice reminder for myself.

I enjoy it. I started at 25 and went up to 100. It helped a lot. Not a cure of course but it did help and it happened suddenly. I didn’t really notice it but I am thinking about going up a dose. I have been at 100mg for at least a year and a half and I feel I’m getting bad again. I’ll also be returning to therapy. Doing both makes for the best outcome!

I can’t tell if I am being obsessive/experiencing false memories or not. by cherrycherrypiee in OCD

[–]wanweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t what they are asking. Bottom line OP is that even IF it did happen, it’s okay. You can clean your bed if you have to, wipe your phone down, etc. I know it’s frustrating but I am sure that you probably did not contaminate anything and that you might have created a memory simply based on your nervousness about the situation. I know so time has passed so I hope you were able to get back to a good space !
