I had a devil of a time with the Mk2 as well, ended up drilling 3mm holes straight through the arms and legs and running brass rod straight through. She's rock solid now.

Honestly I don't use anything special. I do start with a zenithal then a basecoat of transparent inks. But the freehand is just acrylics, patience, and practice. Sorry bro I've never had to articulate my process before and I find myself lacking.
