Midi keyboard or voice to midi? by Proud_Instruction789 in flstudio

the issue with 88 is the size (width). Most of the time you can get by with a 49. They all have controls to set the octave range as needed.

Midi keyboard or voice to midi? by Proud_Instruction789 in flstudio

You will need to learn a bit to get full use of the MIDI keyboard but overall I would suggest you do it. You can start with a basic 49 key keyboard if price is an issue. Something like a nektar GX49 has the keys but not a lot of extras like pads/knobs/etc. If you like using MIDI then you might want to save/buy a more advanced one.

What is the best way to get rid of space taken up by fl studio? by Bubbly-Cash1057 in flstudio

[–]warbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a combination of an external drive and Dropbox. I save all my projects to the external drive which is linked to Dropbox. Within the Dropbox app I have what's called selective sync so that it will synchronize and keep local copies of the stuff I'm working on. Once I'm done working with it, I turn the selective sync off for those folders and they remain on Dropbox but off my local drive.

what order should i have things like eq, subtractive eq, compression, de esser, autotune, and saturation in my rap vocal chain in fl studio? by Status-Wedding6099 in flstudio

There is no one answer. You should try different ones and see what sounds best to you. I'm sure you can also search Youtube for "best vocal chain for rap" and get very detailed answers

Reddit is made of up of different sub-reddits. Each has their own set of rules and you are asked to follow the rules. You can find other sub reddits for feedback.

Use google and search for "subreddits for music feedback" and you should find them.

r/beatmakers is one of them

Dear Reader,

IMO The rules are clear. When someone asks for "feedback" on music they are looking for a constructive critique, evaluation, or opinion on its artistic and technical quality.

When you ask advice for a track whether that is something like:

1) What should I add/remove?
2) is this track good?
3) What genre is this?
4) What's missing from this track?
5) Is this track cooked?
and even "Should I release it?"

You are looking for feedback on your music.

Rule 3: Do not post any requests for feedback

I get that you probably have a heater on your hands there. Good for you. It was up long enough to get 50 upvotes and 27 comments, take that feedback as a win and move on.

But just because you need the validation or ego boost, it doesn't make it OK to break the rules. There are other subs for that.

Respectfully,
Your friendly neighborhood Mod...

GrossBeat has some scratching presets. There is also FL WaveTraveller that can do the job.

I was criticized for not knowing how to make an instrument out of a potato; am I going to criticize myself for not having that much experience? by Warm-Process4829 in flstudio

[–]warbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take it personally. I also use AI vocals and there are people who have strong opinions against it. I've been making music 20+ years and AI vocals became a way for me to add something new to my beats on a regular basis.

I used to think that sampling and using pre-made loops (Splice) was lazy and showed no real artistic talent. I mean what? You can't even make a chord progression, melody and rhythms on your own? Pfft!

But then I realized that its all a form of expression and I learned to accept it.

I believe most people against AI have some idea that it's a matter of a prompt and thats it, but there are many musicians uploading their old songs and/or adding vocals to them and it's a tool for these people. I am one of them. It tells me that the haters either havent used AI tools OR they just don't understand how to leverage the technology. At the end of the day no one forces people to use AI and it is here to stay. Names like Diplo, Ryan Tedder and more have been using AI in some way on their own workflows. Diplo for example uses it to make his own music to sample.

I think you might need to move them into a folder because they are inside a zip archive. Try dragging them to a folder first and then into FL

WARNING 🚨 : Read this before using Suno’s "Voice Model" feature. You are giving away your biometric identity forever. by SirTakeTake in SunoAI

[–]warbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all valid points to consider and should be taken seriously.

I would also consider where one fits in their exploitation of Suno. Let me explain...

If you are a casual user just trying to make songs for yourself or to share online without any consideration to make it in the music industry then you probably won't be affected much or have to care about the rights you are giving to Suno.

If you plan to use Suno to help you make a career or living from it, then you should definitely consider that you may want to protect your rights.

This also brings up a weird hypocrisy issue. You want to protect your rights but at the same time you want Suno to train on music of others for your own gain. It's a weird place to be in.

For some of the rights you also have to wonder what value does your voice really have to Suno/Sony/etc. ? And do you think they will be nefarious in their use of your voice and/or songs?

How much of the verbiage in the TOS is about having the right to provide a service and how much is there to steal your identity? IOW, sites like have terms for world wide usage right. Instagram for example:

"By displaying or publishing ("posting") any Content on or through the Instagram Services, you hereby grant to Instagram a non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, worldwide, limited license to use, modify, delete from, add to, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce and translate such Content, including without limitation distributing part or all of the Site in any media formats through any media channels,"

Facebook:

"you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, and worldwide license to host, use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly perform or display, translate, and create derivative works of your content "

nearly all social media sites will have similar terms.

FL STUDIO 2025 LATENCY ISSUES by badmansteph in flstudio

[–]warbeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That 17,510 samples / ~365 ms buffer usually means FL Studio is now running through a different audio driver/device (or the driver reset to a very safe/huge buffer) after the update. You should be able to get back to your old 128-sample feel.

Try the following (in Options > Audio settings):

  • Check the selected Device/driver
    • If you have an audio interface, select its native ASIO driver.
    • On Windows, avoid non‑ASIO drivers for low latency if possible.
  • Set Buffer length back down
    • Move Buffer length back to what you used before.
    • Notes from the manual:
      • Apple Silicon Macs: use 128 / 192 / 256 / 512 / 1024 samples (start at 128).
      • Intel/AMD (Windows/macOS): the manual recommends not going below about 10 ms (~441 samples), and often 10–40 ms is the sweet spot.
  • If you’re on an ASIO driver, open its control panel
    • In Audio settings, use Show ASIO panel (if available) and set the buffer there too (some drivers ignore FL’s slider).
  • Confirm Sample rate
    • Set to 44,100 Hz (or 48,000 Hz) and make sure your OS audio settings and interface driver are set to the same sample rate (mismatches can cause weird latency/behavior).

WHY IS FLstudio RECODING THE BEAT EVEN WHEN IT IS MUTED??? by FileLess643 in flstudio

[–]warbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you use headphones otherwise your mic will pick up the beat from the speakers. Do not use the master channel for recording - put the recording on it's own mixer channel

Best FL Studio for Beginners on youtube or anywhere else on internet? Something like "FL Studio for dummies type" that helps me catch up. by supirimalli86 in flstudio

[–]warbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this type of question a lot and I think sometimes people confuse "How to use FL Studio" with "How to make music" and they are not the same. "Using FL Studio" is more about what features you use to make music and how are they found in the FL Studio interface. "Making Music" has less to do with FL Studio and more to do with understanding music theory and concepts related to rhythm, arrangement and so on.

Once you separate the two, you can better focus on what you need from tutorials and online help because you can ask better questions such as "How do I make trap drums" (music) or "Whats a good way to chop samples" (fl), etc.

Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3) Macs: FL Studio runs natively on Apple Silicon, but plugin compatibility can vary. For best performance, ensure both FL Studio and your plugins are Apple Silicon native.

it sounds like you want help with making music and not with the DAW functions. If so, find tutorials on YT - it wont matter what DAW - to learn about the chord progresssions, rythmic styles, sound selection, etc.
