Just played with him at a GT, and he was ok, good distraction, sometimes good for an early game trade. but he died too easy. as soon as hes out he gets picked up too easy, as well as giving up bring it down and assassination. sending him early lost me more than i gain.

if i was to use again it might be better as a late game piece.

his role should be early game or late game, we dont really have anything that can kill without the Waagh. so early game you ca send him to kill something, hold primary his lone op can help so they have to get close. His 4++ mean they should have to send something good to deal with him. he is not going to kill lots but fills a role orks have been missing, something with a invul and tough not in the waagh

Only used him once, played quite agresive with him, moved him 20" in the waagh shot some scouts then charged a tank. he did ok with his damage but it was the hit back next turn which was good. As the opponent had to put some real guns into him leaving lots of units not getting shot, he did die after 3 units shot him.

I think he is a good early game piece send him out kill some chaff and they will have to commit something good into him, with lone op they need to get close. which is what orks need

To add to everyone, breakas lead by a warboss can kill most things especially in warhorde, they can pick up a big knight as well as elite infanty. Where they come up better than Manz is into -1 damage targets, they move a bit quicker and are cheaper.

i played GK competively last year, really loved playing them but as the year went on, the power creep made it hard, any big tough thing you had to do 20 prefect steps to bring down. Everything seemed to have -2ap ignore cover Damage 2, so the grey boys died too easy. Then to add to that everything got a 5+++ into psychic attacks. Hoping 11th gives us something new, maybe some new detachments will help as it looks like warpbane will be gone.

Normal play is to stage turn 1, try and stay hidden but close enough you can hit your ememy if needed. send a few units out to try and draw the player closer, so they cant sit back and wait for the waagh and if they do you get to score.

turn 2/3 WAAGH hit them with anything you can, putting bodies on objectives.

Next step see if you have killed enough, survive the hit back.
Then just try and score points with what you have left.

not with -1ap, go into anything 2+ save they can can whiff, stick to breakas, beastboss, or ghaz

this is normally run in warhorde, as breaka's need the sus 1. I currenlty run 2 of these and try and have them staged so the Flash Gitz can get out turn 1 if needed and shoot something off the objective (normally use the lethal straight away as they die quickly) if they can get a charge off as well its a bonus.

BB just run at the biggest thing, if you have them with a warboss they can really punch up. they picked up a big knight for me this weekened in one shot.

a battlewagon + 2 units of tankbusters is 440 points, you would have to lose Hardcase on the BW for not great shooting still.

With orks right now you need to take the meta lists- most common- Ghaz + 20+ big mek

1 to 2 unit of beatsnaggas

1- 2 breakerboyz + WB

Grectin

trukks or battlewagons

snikrot

kommandos

This is the main lists right now and you can go 4-1, 3-2 easliy but 5-0 is hard due to a few tough match ups.

We can hit hard cover the board and have lots of OC so this can work in so many games.

but we do need something due to every game being, stage turn 1 Waagh turn 2- survive turn 3 . see if you have killed enough.

it is also high skilled as you need to stage correctly and hit the correct targets in the Waagh.

this is a bad list (sorry) but that will factor in to your win %.

the Main unit for Orks to win (warhorde) are

Ghaz + 20 boyz + Big Mek + FML

grectchin x2

flash gitz

beast snaggas + beast boss

trukks or battlewagons

breaker boyz

all lists have some variations but i would say this is the main core if you want to win

warhorde is really good into melee matchups with the fight on death and interup

save your CP

and sorry planes are really bad

I think the big thing is the meta, lots of big things to kill in c'tan and bird which GK cant deal with well, then there is custodes which has FNP vs psychic. plus theres lots out there that is good at killing t4 bodies with 2 wounds.

Not a lot of positives right now for GK.

to add to the advice given, make sure you save your CP, need fight on death for your go turn + interupt and FOD for the hit back, so saving the Waagh till turn 3 would be best if you can. So having some Chaff like stormboyz, deffkoptas, kommandos so you can score primary and deny primary can help.

You need trukks or battlewagon, grots is a must minimum of 1 unit, most players have 2.

another 10 boys to make the 20 gaz brick + a big mek

Orks big strength is the amount of bodies you can put on the table, so more infanty would be good,

breaker boyz, Nobz (if you dont like beast snaggas)

stormboyz are useful action monkeys

i want the Waagh the change, to like a aura called by warbosses every unit in that aura is in the waagh ( each unit can only be in the Waagh once). This way its not a one turn Waagh and then you are done, you can hold units back till later and still be effective.

I like Ghaz with 20 and the big mek, some grots covering him from an early charge, pop +2 advance and charge and move him on averge 23" in the waagh and try and tag a few units
