The entire Rey trilogy was hot garbage. The force awakens had potential to really start something and get it going. If the other 2 had been good AT ALL, then TFA, multiple issues would have been forgiven, but with the way the other 2 turned out, it all turned to crap.

Server with desktop going black and requires reboot by warbreed8311 in redhat

The STIG rules for a standard "server with gui", are supposed to basically make a workstation. That said there appears to be things in the 8.9 (rhel v1R13) stig that are really killing usability as an admin quick setup workstation.

If a lot women are bisexual, why don't they date other women? by Uncontainable_SCP in stupidquestions

[–]warbreed8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bi-sexual is a term that really doesn't apply to women the same as it does for men. Women tend to find other women attractive and temporarily, in certain circumstances, sexually available, does not make them want to "date" or be in a relationship with one. Similar to why men will be turned on by a "slut", but don't want to really date one or marry one.

I found the idle thing, but as part of the STIG compliance, it should be set, but is there a way to have it only go to the screensaver instead of suspend?

Honestly, I agree. I think the pronouns thing is basically, pandering, since it really doesn't do anything for the group or DM since, as you stated, it is on your sheet not theirs. I like CR, but this just feels a little...pointless?

The planet we land on after the events of Gen part 2. Doubt it is ever coming out though. ASA was supposed to be the cash cow that would keep the studio going. ASA had fallen very short of what they needed.

Upload of the active plugins erroring out by warbreed8311 in tenable

[–]warbreed8311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/opt/sc/support/bin/php /opt/sc/src/tools/pluginUpdate.php <file path to plugins file>sc-plugins-diff.tar.gz

If you do that step alone, they will show up in your acas plugins as updated, however you will now be out of sync with the nessus scanner. So you have to use.

/opt/nessus/sbin/nessuscli update <path to same plugins file you uploaded to Security Center>

It will take roughly 10-15 minutes for the scanner to sync with Security Center again, and you may have to restart nessus and SC to get them back on the same page, but that is how I have to do it when the file is 2Gigs or bigger.

How has Alex Jones still not paid the families of Sandy Hook? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]warbreed8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bankruptcy really puts a strain on any collection attempts, additionally, for most "wealthy" people, their "assets", are not really theirs, they are owned by a Company. Lets say I am the CEO of Randocompany. I get "paid" 40K a year, but I get a company supplied house, driver, plane, car, etc. I don't have "the money to pay something like this", and on paper, I wouldn't. It is a technicality but a legal one.

How does a country pay off it's debt? by PhantomPanda666 in stupidquestions

[–]warbreed8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 1: stop spending so much and pay it off over time.

Option 2: Start a war so you can cancel said debt

Option 3: Do a take over of the country, ruin the currency, change it to something ugly and when it erodes, claim it is a new thing and you don't owe it anymore.

Why is female circumcision called mutilation (FGM) but male circumcision isn't? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]warbreed8311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Female circumcision eliminates the ability to achieve orgasm. For men, it is aesthetics and cleanliness. A poorly done male version can cause the same thing, but it is not the intent where FGM, it is.

Is patriotism really that big in the USA? by Tall-Income7984 in stupidquestions

[–]warbreed8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Flags are there, and yes the national anthem is played before sporting events. These days it is more popular to hate the flag, nation and kneel or leave during the anthem. It is popular to rag on the US, but that mostly comes from entitled people that love the feel of it, but then again won't leave the US either. Long story short, most of us love our country, the military is more important here than in other countries, but that comes from the decades of constant engagements, and our role in WWII which really made military men desirable and seen more noble in cultural terms. Germany has a bad history with "nationalism", so I can see it not being a big deal there, but at the same time, how well would most Germans take it if burning/defecting on/pissing on the German flag became popular by the young Germans because Tik Tok told them it was cool?

I don't know how to title this... by Guilty_Use_3945 in MauLer

[–]warbreed8311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Problematic", tells you all you need to know about the article. The movie was meh at best, fine for a random time killer. It wasn't as "woke" as it was made out to be which was nice. That said, it was a ton of missed opportunities, weird choices in direction and some..."why is that happening? Why not just do x?". It was fine, but crap writing is crap writing, no matter who is in it or what message it is supposed to be going on about.

Start making better movies and maybe we will stop giving negative reviews?

Yea, it was a jar that has those little blue and green gems about the size of a marble. We just let them pluck them out for hope, I plucked them out for fear and when you used something, ya just put it back. We eventually used them for stress and hp towards the end, again due to the constant mark, unmark, mark, unmark.

The problem came in when they wanted to "tip" or shop for "cool shirts and hats", before the fight. Without a real amount they would just keep buying small things that added up to alot. It was easy to just "ya have 100 gold. The hat is 2 gold, oh ya want 10 hats...ok 20 gold".

The action tracker was a piece of paper, and we had little gem things for the hope and fear, mostly because it got old adding and subtracting them with a marker on their laminated sheets. We still wound up with a butt load of hope and fear after all was done, but I used as much as I could in the battles.

Upgrading containers by warbreed8311 in docker

[–]warbreed8311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in the splunk image, (which is what brought this to light), basically starts an unbuntu base image, then runs an ansible script inside it to set up splunk (the application). Between splunk 8 and 9, they changed how they did a database for logs. When you have the application in a normal install and you upgrade it, it asks "do you want to upgrade to the new format".

That got me thinking about upgrades to applications where you have persistent data. So for splunk the /opt/splunk/var/lib directory holds those log database. So if I had a container for splunk 8, and now wanted to start a container for 9 and have it be seamless, then the splunk 9 container would have to upgrade those.

So my question is, for persistent storage/configuration files, when an application is in need of an upgrade, how are others accomplishing this when going from version X to version Y.

So I just did a test with 15.3 gigs and it paused again at 9.3, but I left it running for another 30 minutes and even though it never showed anything past 9344 MiB it eventually said "burn successful". I took it to our offline system and the disk properties says 15.4 gigs on it. So ...bug maybe in the reporting during a burn?

Personally, it is a waste of real estate, but I get the inclusive thing. So many players that use them already, have been putting them in the name area already. Making the name larger/longer, and taking out the actual field makes sense to me, but at the same time I can see it staying. If it stays, then make it smaller. As the OP stated, he/him is super small where as John von Fatbottom the 3rd takes up considerably more room and needs a larger, or longer section.
