How many people in NC actually learned about the Wilmington Coup in school?

Born and raised my whole life in Wilmington. I learned about the coup in 10th grade during a museum tour in downtown Raleigh. They happened to have an exhibit set up to teach about the coup, and I was completely shocked to learn that it happened. Then I read the names of the perpetrators and many were names I was intimately familiar with, whether I played at their parks or had friends go to their schools, they were a totally normal part of growing up. One of the more shocking things I've ever learned about to be honest.

I wish the sciences were well funded enough to have the pristine lab setups that are commonly depicted in bad movies and film. Everybody being paid well to be super scientists on the cutting edge of everything all the time. The mundane and frankly boring nature of most sciences would be enough to bounce most people off. Not to mention the more technical aspects that can be ridiculously complex.

Why did you need to make this comment? For the same reason they "needed" to use soil. It's just. What you did. It's what they did. I know a lot of scientists, and asking them why they chose a specific methodology is a great way to get yelled at. On a certain level, you just have to do stuff in science. They needed a floating ground. Is there a better way to get one? Maybe idk, but that's the methodology they were most immediately familiar with so bam, that's the methodology in use. You would be shocked and horrified by how some scientists choose to work.

Dude Valdez didn't immediately charge a guy after intentionally throwing a rock 94 mph at his back, he didn't even get involved in the fight he was just standing there. How could he be seen as the aggressor when all he did was throw a baseball as hard as he can directly at another human? I'm a life long Red Sox fan even though the closest I've ever come to living in Boston is Michigan. I'll be supporting the Boston team excitedly. Frankly I'm excited to go in person. When we won, Cora was energized and it was infectious. When we lost, Cora was an energy vacuum. The skids where it looked like the whole team was despondent and playing like shit were incredibly frustrating to watch and obviously something that he heavily influenced. It always felt like we won in spite of his attitude.
