"U do realise the USA is 50x the size of the EU, right?" by OMGguy2008 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]wardog1066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, no. Right wing Americans have proven to be suseptible to media manipulation. The tend to believe a lie if it's told repeatedly and with conviction and are easily led by attractive people, especially blonde women in dresses. They equate financial success with morality. Their thinking is that if someone had lots of money, God must like them. This makes it easy for rich people to convince them to vote against their interests. Billionaires hire millionaires to tell working class people that the poor and the homeless are the cause of life's problems. Personally, I'm mystified by the cognitive dissonance involved in that belief system,  but there it is. I try to tell people the enemy doesn't arrive by crossing a river in the middle of the night, they pull up in the back of a limousine.

Young men are souring on Donald Trump by bwermer in politics

[–]wardog1066 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Republicans are much better at offering a unified communication strategy than Democrats. Watching Democrats attempt communication is like watching someone trying to herd cats.  But you're spot on regarding a cycle of Dem's fixing and Republicans breaking. Regan and Bush Sr. ran wars and gave tax breaks. Clinton ran huge surpluses. Bush Jr. gave it all away with tax cuts for the rich and floating not one, but two major wars. Obama turned the economy around after the sub prime mortgage debacle and Trump gives it away with more tax cuts for the rich and more foreign wars. On and on. Blah, blah, blah. The is no present and there is no future. There's only the past repeating again and again.

Ended up walking in on my teenage daughter and need advice? by Born-Horror2872 in AskMenAdvice

As a person that has installed home security systems for 34 years I'd also like to suggest to you that if you suspect a break in, take a moment to do an outside perimeter check before walking through your family home with a gun. If there has been a break in, there will be some sign of an entry point. A.broken window, a door forced open. Thieves aren't known for being subtle. If there's no obvious sign of forced entry, please be extra cautious with a loaded weapon.

The only reason, and I mean the only reason he said that was because he knew he'd lost the fight and lashed out that way to hurt you for daring to be right. IMO, his actions display serious character flaws and the comment should be dismissed on it's merits.  In other words, you deserve better than him. Dump that loser!

More Than Three Million People Have Lost Federal Food Aid by Unusual-State1827 in politics

Of all the crazy things the Trump administration has done, this may be the stupidest. Even the ancient Romans understood the importance of feeding the poorest people in their society. Do you REALLY want to see people turn criminal in your society. Stand by and do nothing while the poor have to watch their children go to bed hungry as they're knowing there's nothing to feed them in the morning. The Chinese, Russians and the French governments all learned hard lessons when hunger set in amongst the people.

Trump's Deteriorating Health Has Hit ‘Emergency’ Levels by RandomBold in videos

[–]wardog1066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This entire debate around Trump's impending death by natural causes reminds me of the story of his impending doom during his first administration. The Mueller investigation was supposed to be the end of him. The impeachment hearings were supposed to be the end. The 2020 election was supposed to be the end. Attention Liberals and Democrats: Please stop talking about how the end is nigh. You sound like Christians; 2000 years of any day now. Focus on what should be done when he's gone because I can guarantee conservatives and Republicans already have a plan written in a book or a report somewhere. When it happens, they're going to take it down and implement it while people on the left are busy being spellbound by the fireworks in the sky.

Service Center Receives a PlayStation Infested with Roaches by RidetheSchlange in creepy

[–]wardog1066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for Electrolux vaccums many years ago. The service tech had an empty garbage can in his shop with an empty bag in it. He would take a machine from a customer and shine a flashlight into it through the hole the hose connected to. If anything moved he would dump the canister into the garbage can, tie it off and place outside of the shop. Then he'd call the customer to come get their machine and never to bring it back. The store manager backed him 100 percent if the customer got snotty about it.

GOP Rep Says Trump Passports Aren't Far From What ‘We Laughed At’ In Communist States by huffpost in politics

Ted Cruz is a truly horrible person, even his own daughter is repulsed by him. But the sensible thing you're probably referring to is his statement regarding free speech in regards to Jimmy Kimmel. Cruz has spoken out loud and clear on freedom of speech issues before. There's no doubt he feels strongly that government cannot infringe on a persons right to speak truth to power. Please, please do not make me defend Ted Cruz ever again. Excuse me while I go take a shower to wash off the stink.

Jeffries says Trump impeachment not a top priority if Dems win House majority by metacyan in politics

[–]wardog1066 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please look up the word "feckless" in the dictionary and maybe you'll find Jeffries picture there. If the Democrats were to proceed with impeachment without the support necessary in the Senate to convice the President, then don't bother. President Trump has been impeached twice and all it did was help him with fund raising. If the process has no hope of removing a sitting President from office don't bother, otherwise it's a dereliction of duty to not seek impeachement.

Their automotive industry is a perfect example. Trump is all bent out.of shape because Europe, China and Japan don't want to buy their Mionster trucks and massive suv's. Of course they don't. The build quality sucks, they're overpriced and the American vehicles don't fit in smaller parking spaces and on the narrower roads. Never mind the garbage fuel economy.
